  1. Hello, I really apologize for reviving this old thread but I am having trouble finding any information at all about this engine. I have come into possession of an old lycoming inline 8 cylinder flat head engine. The badge on the side of the block says it was out of an auburn. and someone has written in chalk on the side of the head 1929 auburn. There are numbers raised numbers on the head that say "110" and "A11". I am very familiar with engines and work on modern engines however I have never worked on something this old as I am 24 years old. it seems to be a pretty intact block, it has the intake and exhaust manifolds, however no carb, I think the distributor is in a separate box, it does turn over by hand if I turn what I believe to be the crank pulley. Any help would be very appreciated as I am not really sure what to do with this engine. My name is Bobby and I live in St.louis Missouri. I tried to attach a picture
