  1. This is what I have done so far: Established fuel pressure to fuel rail (haven't verified psi yet), removed injectors and rail and verified injector function, verified visually that injectors are not energizing while cranking. How do I test the ECM?
  2. Replaced bad gas tank and fuel pump. Now have pressure in fuel rail but injectors don"t open while cranking. Engine runs fine on starting fluid, so I know ignition is not the problem. Signal to open injectors comes from ECM. 12 volt power to injector harness connector is confirmed, so what can keep the ECM from sending the injector signal? My 1989 Buick Service Manual, page 6E3-A-3 shows a 15 amp INJ/FUEL PUMP FUSE. I cannot find this fuse but since I have power at the injector harness connector I don't think it matters that I cannot find it. After removing the fuel rail and injectors I was able to verify each injector 'clicks' when energized with 12 volts. Could all six injectors be clogged due to non-use for years? Seems unlikely. How would I verify they spray fuel?
  3. I'll do that. It should be interesting.
  4. Years ago when the rollers on my headlight disintegrated I was able to replace them with the large size hot glue sticks, cut to size. I noticed recently, while trying to get the car mobile again, that the headlights did not open, so I suspect the problem to be with the 'glue' rollers! I'll check them soon, but they lasted quite a while. Pain to change, as I recall, but cheap.
  5. My 89 Reatta fuel pump was dead and the sender was totally corroded away. I purchased a new pump and cleaned the unit up sufficiently to accept it but the sender was not repairable. I purchased a universal sender, which required an additional hole in the tank (also purchased new). The sender has two wire connections-one to ground and one from the resistor output. The question is: which of the three wires which once went to the original sender unit is to be used with the universal sender? Has anyone used this method to solve the rusted out sender problem? Does anyone have the wire diagram which includes the fuel sender wiring?
