  1. There is someone on the Facebook list who has been looking for one for months so they must be fairly hard to find. That person also noted that they have not been able to find anyone who could rebuild it and successfully. That said I'm looking for a running parts car now ๐Ÿ™‚
  2. Hi folks, I'm wondering if it's normal for the trunk to be very heavy to open. The struts will hold it open just fine but my wife doesn't even like to drive the car because with the soft top there's no safe place to put her "stuff" because the trunk is so difficult to open. The key works fine as do the hinges. There doesn't seem to be anything malfunctioning. It's just hard to lift. Do the rest of you have this problem or do I have weak struts? Thanks
  3. OK, I found th answer to the location on another post - it was the one on the right fender. For anyone who comes along later this is the simple fix Hemi led me to. Disconnected the battery, unbolted the central bolt holding the connector in place and did not find any numbers on the terminals. Opened the cover on the harness connector and ahhhh there are the numbers! Located number 49 - a white with pinkish stripe wire on my '90 model. Then fighting my internal resistance to ever intentionally cut a factory wiring harness I snipped that rascal. Taped it up, closed the harness cover and reinstalled the plug. Reconnected the battery and went for a test drive. Perfection! Thank you Hemi! The car has never shifter so well.
  4. I know it's been awhile since I asked this question. The TC has been in the barn waiting for better weather - before that it spent months getting the smoke screen issue cured with replacment cylinderheads.... so finally I'm ready to cut the number 49 wire in the 60 wire connector but where is it? I see something that looks like a control module on the front right fender near the air conditioner hoses. Potentially another one on the left hand side. Thank you for the help!
  5. Also found a NEW one at Clearwater cylinder head for 1300 bucks. I know you're frustrated but your car is far from totaled.
  6. A quick Google search turned up several of them for 375. advance Auto even had one but it was $600 but they are not listed for the TC so you need to verify it's the same but it should be. https://www.alliedmotorparts.com/products/cylinder-head-chrysler-lebaron-laser-daytona-town-country-2-2l-roller-782-88-95
  7. Welcome. I also have a 90 and have found the members of this group to be very helpful. Best regards from South Georgia.
  8. If you rain jumper wire from the battery directly to the motor and were applying the power to the correct terminals and the motor didn't respond you have identified your problem. Or at least one of them. I don't have a wiring diagram but you should be able to apply 12 volts to the proper terminals on the motor and it will run if it's functional. If it's not functional you can probably find another Dodge /Chrysler motor that interchanges. Probably even a new one. Let us know how it goes and what you find out. When you take things apart be sure you clean the tracks well while you've got it apart.
  9. Yes I would say the extent of the burl wood in my 1990 is the shifter for the automatic. It is indeed wood. Plastic abounds elsewhere
  10. I saw it listed yesterday. It is definitely one to inspect closely before buying. Looks new in the pics but I agree with Hemi... lots of things will need attention as soon as someone starts driving it. If it wasn't 2000 miles away I would check it out. I'd guess another few thousand to baseline it and it would still be cheaper than most new cars but finding parts for a new car is easy ๐Ÿ˜
  11. Cup holder. I needed a cup holder for cruising down the highway enjoying my soda with crushed ice. This is what I came up with. Anyone else have a "but hey, it works* idea for our cars?
  12. The first one is...looks like mine except mine has black interior ๐Ÿ˜
  13. For the list: 205531 90 10-89 Light Yellow Black Black V6 Kevin Lancaster - Valdosta, GA
  14. Hi guys, My 1990 TC lives a pretty easy life spending most of it's time covered waiting for another sunny day joy ride. Lately the joy ride is revealing a transmission shift problem. I've looked in the forum threads and have not seen this particular issue so maybe someone can share some insights. When coming to a stop I sometimes get a clunk - but the main issue is that the transmission is not shifting into top gear so rpms are staying high at highway speeds....until...I tap the brake pedal. Than it upshifts and the torque converter smoothly locks. If I tap it again... downshift and high rpms again. I'm not familiar with the electronic controls of this transmission but does this sound familiar to anyone? I downloaded an A604 overhaul manual and didn't see anything in the troubleshooting to help with this particular item. Shifts are smooth and crisp other than these two strange issues. I'm puzzled. Thanks in advance for the cumulative wisdom sharing! Kevin
  15. Thanks for sharing! I attached the braided strap to the chassis of my Kenwood and have not had any issues. So make it two votes for the braided ground strap.
  16. Where are you guys getting the replacement gears? Also, my odometer works but the speedometer does not. Have you seen this before? Thanks
  17. I installed a top on a triumph convertible years ago. It was not as difficult as it was meticulous. Give yourself plenty of time, take a few breaks, and best of luck. The pictures will be valuable to you if you take plenty as you disassemble. I know the pictures will be valuable to those of us who have the project in the front of us still. Good luck! I'm cheering for you and look forward to your write-up.
  18. What vehicle does this come out of? Is it something I should be keeping an eye out for him salvage yards? Also to do the conversion I guess you need TC specific shifter linkage, pedals ETC?
  19. I tried sending you a pm. Let me know if you didn't get it. Thanks, Kevin
  20. I'm in for one. Zip is 31602. These should be fun if I can still hook up and work the VCR๐Ÿ˜
  21. My 14 year old daughter likes it...so there's that going for it. ๐Ÿ˜
  22. I'm not sure about current availability but the one I use was made for a LeBaron. It fits the front and back contours of the car but it's a little too long in the middle so I have to fold it over a little bit to keep it from dragging the floor at the back of the car.
