Hello AACA Members.
I am a local resident in a historic Palm Springs, CA. I look out for highly unique items for sale as well as frequenting garage/estate sales. My question is: did any 1930's vehicles EVER produce automobiles with hood ornaments made of wood? I am sharing with you pics (below of what I acquired). It is an antique flying goddess logo (Auburn Speedster hood ornament). It appears to be of carved dated wood with a semi gloss finish.
(The 4th IMAGE below) appears as if it was removed from an original platform (car?) then re-set on an older wooden base (apparent are also very old nails to keep it planted). Please help. Thank you.
