It looks like a few years have gone by since this post, has anybody come up with something yet??

Any body out there on the West Coast that rebuilds the A5 General motors AC compressor, I have this going on my 1956 Buick AC project, almost got it, but I need the compressor rebuilt. Possibly a rebuild kit and I could do it myself.

I HAVE A 1955 STEERING COLUMN FOR AUTOMATIC 1955 BUICK SPECIAL. I HAVE A POWER STEERING PUMP WITH BRACKETS BUT ITS NOT FOR A/C CAR. THE AC PULLEY IS STRAIGHT AND NOT DISHED FOR A A/C CAR, HARD TO FIND. MY POWER STEERING IS FOR A 56 BUICK 322 NAILHEAD, YOU WOULD HAVE THE FIND OUT IF ITS THE SAME FOR THE 55

I have almost another 56 ac unit, had to buy 2 to get enough parts so i have dash vents and evaporator and condenser spare. also have a 55 pontiac ac compressor with mounts single pulley, if your interested.

Yes thanks, i have two of these and the best one is about as good as that one, i will polish and paint the logo.

Thanks much,i appreciate your quick response. I started just that and then thought, ..theres got to be some body out there doing reproductions, I've checked eBay and found a NOS part but it wasn't AC tis, DJP1956

I have a 1956 Buick Special and I'm installing factory air conditioning. I am looking for anybody that has information on where to get the under dash control plastic face plate restored or if there is a after market one out there?? I have rebuilt the control but the black face plate is some what faded and the Buick Emblem is bent in some and has lost the blue and gold color it came with. any help would be appreciated.
