Indeed My mechanic said that is true when u have new or good condition manifold but due to condition and old age there will be leakage if he puts them iron on iron and that is y he is using the gaskets that came with rebuild kit

so 56 rods and lifters can replace the old ones originally for 1955 with no side effects? is it ok despite difference in size? -

the new lifters are less deeper than the old ones! also i got a new cam in the kit. probably they sent me upgrade of the 55 to 56 with all pushrods and cam and lifters of 56 all compatible -

rebuilding my 322 ci nailhead engine Buick Century 1955 i got rebuild kit from kanter but seems to be wrong lifters like in photos. old and new ones are there in photos. could it be ok to put the new lifter even though it looks shorter in size than old ones?! -
Mechanic suggested rotating cylinders in order for them to go up and clean them then rotate them down again. Without physically removing the pistons . Would that work?

Nailhead 322 cu overhaul Buick century 1955 Nail just got broken 😳 Advice I got Makes sure they break that motor down and clean all them pistons and ring from all the trash 🗑 they just put in it... that motor won’t last a week.. with the junk in it.. the problem being shavings getting in behind ring lands and locking rings up.. just friendly advice.. I’ve seen it happen.. you will know cause it won’t stop smoking.. is that correct? Can I clean them without disassembling the piston and rings again ?

old stack (5+5) clearance is about 4 mm new set (5+5) clearance is about 4,5 mm the new ones are a bit thinner than old od ones so clearance is more with new ones and that is worrying 4 my mechanic. that is why he wanted to use 6 steel + 5 clutch discs -
