    mechanic is telling me to leave this hole open for now while trying the engine after overhaul as to compensate for the cap that is not venting until we buy the vent cap from the US is that ok?

    This part is busted ! What are the negative consequences of it needing to change ? I m not even sure it’s original! Believe it’s after market that was put for some fitting and sealing reasons !

    Found a donor car Buick road master 1951 sedan would the tube fit mine? I mean instead of wielding , just exchange it?
