I thought it may be the pickup tube but it has a full tank of gas and it was working the day before, I will test the line tomorrow

Somehow I completely forgot to check the line that goes to the carb, the one to the tank is all good

My 1954 Buick Special is not getting gas, I’ve tried 2 different fully rebuilt OEM fuel pumps, all new gas line (no holes or kinks) carb rebuild, new fuel filter. The carb gets plenty of suction and will start no problems if gas is dumped in the carb. And it has a full tank of gas. Is there anything I’m over looking something I haven’t thought of?

The one that was in the car was bad, we replaced it 2 months ago

My grandpa had it running 5 years ago but the battery drained over that time, it hasn’t ran since then

What should the battery go to when trying to start the car?

When the car was off it was at 12.6 volt, when we were trying to start it, it went to 11.4, is this what you were telling me to do? It clicks rather loud but it doesn’t start cranking

We have tried with the battery charger, it’s a louder click and sometimes a crank, but we’ve only got it started once

We got the starter tested and it worked just fine, all the wires and the relay are fine to my knowledge

We have had it fully charged and the starter clicks but doesn’t crank, that’s why I think I need more cold cranking amps, I’m just wondering how much is recommended

So the battery is only about 2 months old, it is suprisingly enough a 12 volt, I do not know what the old one was, all the other electrical wires and switches seem fine

Does anybody know the proper battery that should go in a 1954 Buick special. Mine currently has 400 cold cranking amps, I do not know if that is adequate or something else is wrong, right now it is having trouble with the starter and I think it is the battery because everything else is fine
