  2. It was a glorious day to be out, driving the Packard!!
  3. Here is another photo of Blueboy when Bayard owned it.
  4. Here is the car that Bayard traded in, sold to acquire Blueboy, A 1932 Packard 902 Phaeton. That is a young Bayard standing next to the car.
  5. Here is the car after an accident in December of 1949. I believe this car is in the Collier collection today. If for some reason they think the car is now devalued because it was in a serious wreck I would like them to know that I will be pleased to take it off their hands for a greatly reduced amount.
  6. Here is another picture of the Badenhausen custom Dietrich he affectionately named Blueboy. He told me many times that this was his favorite of all classics he owned and he owned a lot of classic cars over the years. I have a hand written list he gave me listing all the cars, what he paid and what he sold them for. I should post this sometime, it is fascinating! I only wish Bayard had invested in a better camera because his photos leave something to be desired. I guess he had his priorities, and it was his cars!
  7. Was going thru some of my old files of Duesenberg materials and came across this photo of J-346 which I did not realize I had because I did not know the car still existed till this summer when it surfaced after decades of hidden storage. Had the pleasure of meeting and talking to the new owner who was very gracious about sharing his car and it's history. Now I see it is going to auction at Amelia and thought this photo both interesting and timely. The photo was taken in Cincinnatti in the 50's and the owner is listed as William A. Burns Jr. Looks to have 30 Cad 16 headlights and wears a license plate XP 22. What do you suppose the last unrestored J Murphy Disappearing top roadster will realize at this sale?
  8. Someday I will learn how to type and then read my text before hitting enter! Allen

  11. Hi Carb King, would you elaborate about the DD3 Carb, I have one on my Model J which I have yet to tour with. Should I be looking for trouble or go to a different carb set up? What are the issues with this carb. I know they were used on Chrysler and Lincoln as well, thanks in advance for your insights, Allen

Great parts car or restore. Car is in Illinois and can be seen with notice. Car has a V12 firewall so may have been a 12 donor car at some time, not sure. 17. Hello, I owned a 90 series Buick for over 30 years and accumulated quite a bit of parts and I think here I have many of the things you’re looking for so if you still need stuff, give me a call, Allen at 2177781425 or email at apacap@comcast.net
  18. Hi Tex, I love your car and hope you never succumb to the temptation of "restoring" it. It is a wonderful living piece of history and the documents that came with it are priceless. They are only original once. No question as to the originality, example, the red oxide primer used by Packard was as far as I know a unique product with a distinct salmon color to it. It is the identical color to the primer on my 32 Twin Six R/S Coupe that remains a completely untouched original. I know this because the back sides of the side mount covers were never finish painted but left in primer. A Packard parts number is stamped in black ink on to the face plates. I would love to see a more detail photo of your Startex installation. I could not see it in the shot of the engine compartment but I am assuming you have one because of the Startex direction manual you have.
