  1. Hopefully I have said it correctly in the title. I would like to purchase the end of the hood spear that gets bolted in the middle of the cowl. The piece that is about 6 inches long that completes the rest of the hood spear. Thanks for looking, Dennis
  2. Thanks, paint it is . Black interior, black headliner, black trim.... Thank you for all who chimed in. Dennis
  3. Thanks to all of you who gave me good insight into these pieces of metal.....I am going to treat mine as unpainted and try to shine them up as stainless... I just might try to clear coat them for longevity.
  4. What made me ask this question is that these parts were painted. I started to sand the paint off these parts cause I was going to repaint them. While doing so the pieces came out pretty shinny. Just like one refurbishes stainless steel, I started with 400 sand paper and finished with 2500 grit and buffed two of the pieces out to a brilliant shine just like stainless steel. This car is very original and wondered if someone might have repainted the parts. If not, it makes me wonder what metal these parts are made of. Thanks for some answers. Dennis
  5. Hello, can anyone tell me what the metal trim pieces inside of the riv are made of? They are the ones that go around the headliner, inside the rear window, and the package tray. They look like aluminum or stainless steel, but I am not sure. Thanks
  6. If you don't have these, can one purchase them? If so, where? Here is a picture from the manual.
  7. THANKS TOM K, , exactly what I was looking for. Purchased these from his ebay site..........thanks again everyone for the great insight and help in finding these very hard parts. Far many smart individuals on this site
  8. Hi Tom, Dennis here (aka. TheOldMan). Yes I asked them and Kevin said he was not sure of the size that went there. Dennis Vercellino
  9. Thanks Ed, I will get the interior screw kit from Mr. G's as suggested. In reality, there was nothing in the holes so I have nothing to compare. The OP had these set in with nuts not clips. I don't even know what size to look for. Do I need these clips or what have others used?
  10. Gentlemen and ladies, Does anyone know where one can purchase the clips that hold the quarter belt reveal molding in place? I have searched for the clips with no luck. I know to use the nuts from the inner side of the trunk but I thought when I took them off that there were clips in the holes to use to push the front studs in. Thanks in advance......Dennis
  11. Great thought Terminator.....I remember reading about the taillight leakage and have that on my list. Thanks.
  12. The painter did not get much more of the car than the body....I have gone and inspected the rest of the car.... No sleep lost. tks Ed. If I remember correctly, These were very badly deteriorated so all I want to do is get new ones and go onward.
  13. Just got car painted and painter took these out of car and thru them away. Where can I find these and what is the real market name instead of insulators? Any help is appreciated. Pictures are attached. Dennis
  14. Sorry Ed not referring to the molded pieces or the metal pieces. Thanks Bill, that was exactly the post I was looking for. I just bookmarked it so I won't have to ask this again. Now to remember where I put that bookmark>😖
  15. Well my name says it all. Somewhere in this great forum I read about when putting on the outside trim of a car, some of you used something on the back of the posts before you put it on the car to seal up the holes as the piece goes on the car. For the life of me and 2 hours of searching, I can not find that thread. Can someone help out an Old Man 😊
  16. I have had this issue on some of my cars and yes they do relax. Although my 52 Ford F1 still has somewhat of an issue on the passenger door.... that said, it too relaxed but took time. I have no idea what it felt like from the factory. I was only a kid then lol. Dennis
  17. still closed from July 4th...... Thanks anyway.
  18. Looking for both vent windows non power. Dennis
  19. You can't read blue letters on a blue tube and red letters on a red tube. How could anyone remember which is which. I can't remember where I put my coffee cup.
  20. While you are cleaning up the channels, is there any felt in the rear channel or does the window just ride inside the channel with nothing? If there is felt, (mine does not have anything in them) what size and where to get that felt? Dennis
  21. I will "T". Thanks for the information. Need all I can get.
  22. Thanks Bill, I will make sure the ones I receive will be just like the original ones on the car......mine like yours are original.....
  23. I know this is an old post but I just bought the set from CARS and the inner felt still has the bent notch around the vent window. I called and the person I talked to was not very open to what I had to say. I too tried to straighten the wiggle out and like Bill said, it is not very appealing to look at. If Repops is like Bill says they are, straight by the vent window, I might have to purchase the inners from Repop. Too bad CARS did not help me. Dennis.
  24. So Tom, what is the helping hand suggestion in getting the plug out of the drivers head for a water temp gauge without stripping it?
