  1. Only a bill of sale and Missouri is a title only...
  2. The above vehicle is a 1937 Buick Special
  3. The seller of this vehicle has had it stored for 18 plus years, before that time he had it at a now dafunct body shop. Being there over 2 years for a off frame restore ( that didn't get done), at that time someone removed the pass side V IN tag. Could there be another VIN number on the vehicle? I found the complete VIN number on the insurance card. This a nice vehicle, that should not be parted out.i have the opportunity to buy, is there anyway to find out if this VIN number was used on another vehicle? I know is could be a this sensitive question but if anyone has a suggestion or idea, my name is David barnett cell 417 353 6278. If this question should not be ask on this site, please delete. Thanks David
  4. On the above straight eight engine testing I also tryed pressure testing the coolant system, useing a good Mac brand tester, I either had a massive leak or the tester was bypass the pressure above the seal at the overflow
  5. Ben Bruce aka first Born, David barnett Springfield mo here, you asked about my need of another straight 8 engine. I am in the process of buying ( owener can't find the title yet) a 1938 Buick Special, he has allowed me to look it over, says he drove it parked itunder his carport over 18 years ago. When I checked the engine oil I found the crankcase was overfilled by a gal. Of coolant. Ran a compression test( 2 cyl had 40 lbs the other 6 cyl had zero pressure, ) removed the value cover and found a massive amount of light brown caked crap and a thick rust everywhere. The engine turns over slowly, I can't go any deeper until the purchase is complete.
  6. Pont35cope Thank you so much for this help, this will be a great help, you have no idea of how much. Thanks
  7. Sorry for the lack of info, I'm new to the group and frist time being on a forum. I have a 1938 Buick special with a bad engine. The valve cover say Dynaflash, I don't know the HP or how to determine the CID of the engine. Has a 2 barrel carb, needing another engine that will bolt up to the bell housing and motor mounts, giving me the years of the replacement engine would be a great help, thanks for any heip.
