  1. Hi NJ. Im in Australia so have no idea. It would appear from the vent pattern on the sides of the bonnet [ hood ] this is a Victory Six. They had a distinctive pattern 4,4,4,2.
  2. Hi . I am very impressed . That would have to be a rare body shurely.
  3. Hello there from Australia. I am so envious of you guys. What magnificent restorations. Just getting away from Body Numbers for the moment. One consequence of the Victory 6 going RH Drive was the fact that the all Metal Pedals were now on the same side as the Exhaust Pipe. They got SO hot you could NOT drive bare footed if you wanted to. One good thing about having the accellerator pedal lower and in between the other two was that you could double de-clutch down into 2nd or First using your Left Foot on the Clutch and the toes or ball of your right foot on the brakes, while operating the accelerator with the right heel. I got pretty good at it coming into a corner at speed, braking into the corner, clutch, shift to Neutral, clutch out, rev up , clutch to neutral and into the lower gear, brake off and accellerate away. . Smooth with no grinding of gears. I still practice sometimes on my 91/92 Diesel HiLux,,[ Toyota Tacoma to you ]
  4. I'm in Australia. Only had it for 2 years back in the 1950's Never had a record of the chassis or engine numbers but it is the only one I've seen in any photos with a VICTORY SIX emblem across the radiator. It had a space & clamp for a spare wheel in each front mudguard and a carrier on the back. Right Hand Drive with Artillery wheels.
  5. I believe that DODGE put out 4 different models of 6 cylinder cars around 1928-29 . A Standard 6 , a Senior 6, a DA [ I don't know what the initials stood for] and the VICTORY SIX. I am in Australia and always wondered whay they called it the VICTORY SIX. It was because it came out in 1928 , 10 years after Victory in WW1. The one I had was built in 1929 .. It was a RH drive Tourer, had a chain driven generator and the exhaust manifold outlet [ I am almost certain was at the rear of the engine on the RH side ]. The steel pedals soon became too hot to drive bare-footed. All steel body by BUDD, Philadelphia. Vacuum tank fuel pump on the LH [ passenger ] engine side of fire wall and 6V battery under the passdenger side front seat. The car had a full width bumper across the back with a folding " carrier" and the very distinguishing feature of a place in each front mudguard to carry a spare wheel. So it had two spare wheels. The other feature which I havent seen on any of your photos was VICTORY SIX on the radiator. Unfortunately, all this is 60 years ago and I only wish I had the car now, or even knew where it was..
  6. Hi Matt. Your DODGE looks great. and its a Sedan. Shame about the Plymouth. A lot of Tourers came to Australia. There are some subtle differences between yours and the one I had. I had a place for two spare wheels, one in each front mudguard. The other is that the door handles on mine were on the rear of the doors. I have to say that my old one is the only one I have seen a photo of with VICTORY SIX on the RADIATOR.... ps I had a carrier on the rear on which I bolted a large wooden crate.... Denys
  7. Thanks Matt. It looks wonderful. I gather you have been restoring it for a while. Have you got a side on photo ?? Denys Hello Everyone. I am in Australia and this DODGE VICTORY SIX was my first car bought from my Great Uncle in 1957. The photo is from about 1958-9 and that is me driving it. I drove it to Sydney & return from Brisbane [ about 650 miles back then ] over 5 days with 2 mates. That was the longest trip. I took it out West on a number of shooting trips.... I often wish I still had it and sometimes even now dream about finding it again. I have never seen another one in my travels. If anyone is interested I have more photos....
