It looks like a good car, and certainly one of the more desirable 57's to own Hagerty Value #1 Concours condition $51,800 +19.9% #2 Excellent condition $35,600 +24.9% #3 Good condition $18,500* 0% #4 Fair condition $7,900 0%

Hagerty Values one it $33,400 Condition #1 vehicles are the best in the world. The visual image is of the best vehicle, in the right colors, driving onto the lawn at the finest concours. Perfectly clean, the vehicle has been groomed down to the tire treads. Painted and chromed surfaces are mirror-like. Dust and dirt are banned, and materials used are correct and superbly fitted. The one word description for #1 vehicles is "concours." #2 Excellent$25,800 #3 Good$13,300 #4 Fair $5,600 Garnet Red & Antique Ivory was probably one of the most popular combinations

1965 Electra Convertible $11,950
Y-JobFan replied to B Jake Moran's topic in Buick - Buy/Sell - Not Mine
I have not seen there being significantly less early ones than the 69/70. Production throughout those years was all pretty consistent when new within 1000 or so either way each year. I would guess that there may be more 70's around as they were probably seen as future collectibles when they were new due to last year for the Electra convertible but first year for the 455. I would buy a 69 over the 70 every day of the week for better styling. Probably my favorite years would be 67, 69 and 64. 61 would be in there as well. Like the 66, and I could take or leave the 62, 63, 65, and 68 and 70. -
1965 Electra Convertible $11,950

This is one you would need to put our eyes on, the 65's pot metal gets ugly and it's hard to see, but there appears to be lots of pitting, rust bubbles are also present. if it needs a top your looking at at least 2 grand for a decent one. Interior looks very nice. Wrong engine is a huge minus. This could be a nice driver, but you could put a lot of money in it very quickly to spruce it up. Would be hard to live with visible rust bubbles and addressing that at all could open up a can of worms. This one is still worth a look -
I think maybe the price is pretty accurate for condition, if you blow up some of the pictures there is definitely rust/bubbles noticeable. Hagerty has a #3 at $12,400. It is nice that it had power windows, crank windows in a convertible are a real turnoff. Color is good. Could make someone a nice buy if it is not a scam and the rust issues are not to bad or a ton of bondo

I can't stand to even watch Doug for a minute. He often tests cars that are anything but stellar examples so one wonders how he can really judge what the cars were really like. He often makes mistakes as well when rattling off stats about cars he reviews

I didn't, was just looking at it at the time. I did have a bunch of pictures at the time but deleted them eventually. Another one that did this well at auction but I believe was a no sale was the Select 60 with 1000 mile that was offered at Kissimmee auction either last spring or summer

Where's the best place to source belt moulding for 1990 Reatta?
Y-JobFan replied to Ed Luddy's topic in Buick Reatta
Jim Finn will more than likely have one reattas60@gmail.com -
Always loved this 90 Select 60 with the hardtop. An ASC car. possibly to gauge interest on the removable top. If only
-
Every time I see the convertible with the hardtop I can't help but think they should have just used that design for the coupe

That is the second time it has sold in the last year, I have personally been in this car and over it. It sold for $34K to the current seller, something else came available is why he decided to sell it again.

1955 Century Convertible $13,500 Wisconsin
Y-JobFan replied to B Jake Moran's topic in Buick - Buy/Sell - Not Mine
This car would have been spectacular when new. Having a good bit experience with low mileage Buicks I actually believe the mileage to be accurate. It will take deep pockets to bring it back. Love the service tag, check the phone number. -
1954 Super $10,000 19,000 original miles ?
Y-JobFan replied to B Jake Moran's topic in Buick - Buy/Sell - Not Mine
That was my first thought, awful color combo. Looks like it would a fun one to detail out and see how good you could get it -
I wouldn't expect you to know anything, your info is often wrong. If you think you are being cute, you are, just like a child

1990 Park Ave 81,500 miles - $8,888
Y-JobFan replied to B Jake Moran's topic in Buick - Buy/Sell - Not Mine
I agree that the $8800 is to high, super clean examples of these bring $5-6K regularly when offered, even real decent over 100K miles bring $3500-4000. That being said, if i were in the market for one this one would be of interest but in the long run I would hold out the search until I found an Ultra. As comfortable as this one is, the Ultra trumps it in every way. The Ultra also as the larger wheels/tires -
1942 Roadmaster Sedanette $4,300

it doesn't appear to be a 42, is that your thoughts? Here is your Buick 101 lesson, note the spelling -

B Jake, I would have assumed you knew how to spell Sedanet being a Buick enthusiast, obviously I was wrong smh -
plus interior work, plus a new top just to start

One of 2964, so there are/were not many out there even when new.

Didn't buy any of mine new, but all have had complete portfolio's a couple of them still slid into the original plastic bag.
