  1. Interesting history found in this ole girl. My husband pointed it out, as we were working on her the other day. I saw it there on the glove box but really had not stopped long enough to read it (to busy getting the doors open) Here it is, our delivery wagon must have delivered lifesavers candy! What a cool find!
  2. Major progress today! Motor and transmission are out as well as dash instruments and bumper!
  3. Of course it will! Just needs a little elbow grease!
  4. And this is what it looks like out of the car boys and girls! Happy restoring!
  5. Then you will have access to get a chisel or some other thin tool in between the door frame and door. If you take the chisel and a hammer, you can beat in between enough to get some movement of the door opening. Keep working at it until you can see the latch that is stuck (first picture I posted) Once you see that, you can get your chisel in there and with the hammer, beat down on it, to get it to move in the down position and your door will open.
  6. Both doors are open now. FYI for future reference, in case someone else has this problem on an old Chevy panel wagon. You can pry this thing down from the inside. Assuming you can get inside from another door. I got lucky and the back door would open. I guess if all doors are stuck, you are screwed, go find a different car, not really, break the window to get in or any other idea you can come up with. First you need to remove this piece of trim...
  7. My husband says to bring out "The Enforcer" but all the metal on this is in great shape and I don't want to take the chance of making dents.
  8. I have the door panel off, I can see the lock mechanism, that is what I oiled. Is there another part that I can't see? I think it is unlocked, the mechanism moved when I pulled up on the lock.
  9. I am starting on a restoration of a 1951 panel delivery wagon and cannot get the front doors open. I have oiled the mechanisms on the door side (latch) and they are moving but still not having any luck getting them open. Any ideas? Thanks Jen
