AURktman replied to AURktman's topic in Our Cars & Restoration Projects
A bunch of stuff done today, then interrupted by dislocating my forearm apparently. Radiator brace all finished up, hood sanded and script and Vee holes drilled, and a coat of epoxy primer. -

More work done. Less than I wanted, but it was a lazy day. Brake bracket in semi gloss, other parts in semi gloss, grille bar in semi gloss, and fender in final primer ready to block sand. Another coat of primer on roof/quarter area. -

Those 390’s are better on gas than my 460. I pass everything but a gas station. -

Testing out the interior and deciding on the dash color. I think I’ve settled on the Inca Silver for dash. The gauge cluster is Inca Silver, I think I will go with the silver entirely inside instead of a black dash. It will have black carpet, and black carpet on the bottom of the door panels, but that is all the black in the car. -

Back down on all 4 and checking that everything fits with the suspension loaded. Put the steering wheel in, first time she has been truly steerable in 15 years. -

Oil Filter Question 72 Oldsmobile Cutlass "S"

The PF24 cross references to the Purolator L30005, that’s what I use on my 1960 Bonneville. -

Exhaust almost finished, transmission done except torque converter cover, and wheels/tires mounted to check fit. -
Reminds me of the Holiday Inn in Bowling Green, KY during the TriFive Nationals. Their “block” rate is about $160 a night for the 4 nights. If you rent it after that block is filled, it sometimes jumps to $900 per night.

Thanks! Been working 6-7 day weeks lately so very little progress but now I’m somewhat out for summer (teacher) and only teach 2 classes over the summer. This means I will get far more done. Finished up the trans linkage and pan (Lokar cable shift) Fuel lines finished Tires, mounted, balanced, and cleaned Firewall finished Some of the exhaust rehung. And last but not least, pressure washed the front porch. Yeah…. Not car related but Honey Do’ed so it had to be done. Gotta love the Southeast, everything molds, rusts, and mildews here in a matter of minutes. Some photos from today. Tires finally mounted on wheels. My spare tire, it’s a 165/80R15 on a 15x4 wheel. Fits perfectly in the original spare location. -
1960 Pontiac Bonneville (Maude)

I’m still running the original Hydramatic. I still haven’t had it rebuilt, I did find someone local that can build it so I will go that route. I will get it done once the 57 is on the road, I don’t want two cars in pieces. Shifts fine in reverse, takes a bit to get the torque converter to start spinning the transmission in forward gears. -
1927 Auburn body, can’t be too many of those floating around in unused good condition. Interesting build though!

Found this on Pinterest and no information was given. It’s an odd truck, but somehow I really like it!

Got out for the first local show of the year, it’s a show at the local junior high school to get kids interested in the older cars. Actually drove her to work first then to the show. -
I’m sure this one has been posted, if not then here it is for the first time. Not quite sure about how I feel of the colorization.

Missing cars still thought to exist.
AURktman replied to BobinVirginia's topic in General Discussion
I know it’s not exactly a missing or ultra rare car, but this one is interesting. A friend/former colleague owns it. http://myflatheadford.com/henry-ford-ii-1931-model-a/ -

Cleaned up a mess in the workshop, I had something fall over and tip my oil drain drum. Dumped about 6-8 quarts of used oil on the floor. Spent 2 hours with kitty litter, a brick, and a dust pan. Tomorrow morning I will crank up my new TIG welding outfit and start practicing. I have some aluminum and steel to weld. Wish me luck! -

For its age, it’s quite solid and damage free! I bet that was a huge feeling of relief! -

I had C3/4 fusion Jan 6 so not much work out of me right now, but I did get myself a late Christmas present. I managed to drag it into my workshop and get it off the ground. PrimeWeld TIG 225X. Now to learn how to TIG weld. I need to go get a tank of argon as well. -

We call that “Clean Table Syndrome”. Any clean table in the lab or workshop gets cluttered faster than the speed of light.
