to possibly add to what lump wrote the rib on casting was to hold a sheet metal housing that hot air pipe fit too.it was either a tin tube that ran too the air cleaner it was also a flexible tube on some years.notice the holes they were for rivets to attach the housing

those look very similar to 50s ford they mounted on the firewall.the pins sticking up were studs for circuit breakers.then again they may be for another thing altogether the clips held glass fuses
