john if the switch is bad would it stop the tires from spinning my goal is to make this 79 park ave a fast runner that will smoke the tires whenever I get down on it I just install a edelbrock 750 carb now I'm about to have dual exhuest installed what else can I add to this 350 x to make run faster

hello I hoping someone can help me I have a 79 buick park ave. when replacing the carb I noticed there is no kick down cable after looking more into my problem without having a passing gear I noticed the switch on the gas pedal then I look at the trans and seen a wire going into it so I got to wondering if that switch is for the passing gear
