  1. Maybe the car doesn't need rings and bearings. Do a thorough check of it's condition. You may only need a valve job. If that's the case, pull the head and drop it off at the machine shop. Money, time and effort saved. No sense replacing parts that don't need replacing.

Once again we can't get an accurate estimate for the cad file if we had to pay an outfit to produce it. No offense to Gary.  What would a company that does cad files charge to make a file for an obscure part using an original for which no prints exist?

Download Fusion 360. It's free for hobbyists. They ask that you not use it to make money and there's some functionality that you don't have access to with the free version. But I personally haven't felt the need for any of it. From your drawings you can generate a file that can be read by anyone in any industry that uses this stuff. Yes, there is a learning curve but the skills translate to other projects, so it's hardly wasted effort.

A friend from our local Buick chapter and his wife stopped by our house one day. My wife and I walked out to the garage with them so he could see the new acquisition.

After they left my wife told me that his wife had asked her "You let him buy that?" My wife asked "What did she mean?" I told her not to even think about it. I did take her out to dinner and got her something nice when I sold it.

I am highly entertained by many topics of this nature.

That reminds of the of time I was in my insurance provider's office. I was talking to the Secretary about something to do with a project in my garage. She's said, "if you were my husband, I would never let you junk up my garage". I said, "don't worry, I would never marry you". That pretty much ended that conversation.

Guy up in the Portland Oregon area was doing the same thing. I met him sometime around 2018 or 2019 when he asked to take photos of whatever car I was driving at the time, don't remember if it was my 48 F2 or the Model T huckster. I lost track of the blog.

I used to live in Portland and that's one of the few things I miss about it. You tend to take for granted that old rust-free cars are everywhere. Not so much in Illinois.

I’ve been looking at the procedure people place on utube on replacing king pin bushings and they say you need to ream the bushings .

To what size , the king pin size?
    Im new to this.

Your shop manual should have a reamer specification.
