Hello. It’s a long shot, does any know the length of the conrod for a 1907 B model. looking for the centre to centre measurements the engine is the small 7hp engine 4” bore 4” stroke.

Bob, I would pull the inlet valve out, if it’s the same size as the exhaust which you would assume it would be. take it to and engine guy and they should be able to help you out. There are 2 sizes of valves between the models. The original valve stems where 7/16”, but most of us have replaced the valves with 3/8”stems and the machine the barrel to suit valve guides. if you post a picture of your engine and car , we can help you Id a bit better.

Thank you all for your input, Yes looking at the cam in the next Brush motor I am building. I am looking at improving the torque, I am not looking to make it rev or improve the HP, just improve the efficiency of the little engine. That is the key as the engine is on 1 litre in size. After months of reading info, talking to others I thought I would put it on this forum. The info I have been reading all state that the most important part is the Intake closing for low rpm torque. most manufactures suggest a 30-35d ABDC for the intake. Brush 10HP Cam specs Original Cams - deg. Modified Cams - deg. (suggested so far) Inlet valve opens 10 ATDC 4 ATDC Inlet valve closes 60 ABDC 30 ABDC Lobe lift 0.260" (6.60mm) ? Inlet valve open interval 230 206 Exhaust valve opens 43 BBDC 35 BBDC Exhaust valve closes 4 ATDC 4 ATDC Lobe lift 0.260" (6.60mm) ? Exhaust valve open interval 240 219 Spark fully retarded approx. 2 BTDC Spark fully advanced approx 30 BTDC

A camshaft question for the brains trust. Does any one know the camshaft specs for a single cylinder Caddy? Would like to know the duration of the intake and exhaust and max lift? I am working on a project and would like to make a cam with similar specs to the caddy as they go well.

Very sad to read this, is this engine from the Brush Electric company?

Ok that makes sense, I read that there is a couple of Brushs with clutch and 3 speed gearbox retro fitted in the USA. Did you have a original Brush gearbox? or only parts? If so, i am very interested in it or the parts to help with a project.

Hello, I am helping out an old friend and he is wanting to fit a electric stater motor to his 2cyc Maxwell has anyone fitted a stater? I have some thoughts, but I am interested in your feedback.

An update on the clutch plates, We have made over 18 sets for Brush owner here in Aus, NZ, Norway and USA. We have done many hundreds Kilometre's on these plates and are still very smooth in engagement/operation. June-2023 edit: now over 24 sets Apr-2024 edit: now over 35 sets.

Brush Model D and newer, low and reverse bronze clutch plates. These are water jet cut out of the Hyster bronze clutch plates. 4 x bronze plates to replace the original Brush bronze clutch plate. These work much smoother in operation, for a smoother clutch engagement. I get these cut to order. Please allow around 6 weeks from order confirmation before ready to be shipped (can do worldwide shipping, USA shipping is about $90AUD) $496 AUD + shipping spec: bronze plate with oil groves OD 159.0mm thickness 3.2mm these will fit the BC transmission but only have 6 fingers not 12 as BC do message/email me via this forum if your interested.
