  1. Hershey is my Christmas. It’s the weekend I look forward to the most out of the whole year. I’ll be 32 the end of October and this will be 29 years in a row for me.
  2. Hello Everyone! Just wanted to give a few updates on the Grand National Meet. It's crazy to think our club has been working on this for over three years and now it starts in just a few days! First, if you have paid for trailer parking at the Westmoreland County Fairgrounds please go there and drop your trailer BEFORE coming to the host hotel to get your registration packet. Our parking team will already have your name on a list to park. This will help to eliminate congestion at the host hotel. Second, we will be allowing show vehicles on the show field FRIDAY EVENING from 6PM to 830PM. The time frame will be strictly enforced. We will have security at the show field all evening. This is a new thing for an AACA event to the best of my knowledge, so we will try our best to make it go nice and smooth. We think it will help to eliminate congestion on Saturday morning. You MUST have already picked up your registration packet at the host hotel to park Friday night. There will be no exception to this. Third, please remember this is a strictly VOLUNTEER event. Please be kind with your comments and critiquing of this event. We have worked hard to put a nice event together and have an excellent show. Please follow our rules and listen to directions to ensure everything goes nice and smooth. If anyone has any questions please feel free to call me (412) 558-0994
  3. Hello Everyone! I just wanted to make a post and let everyone know that registration is closed for the AACA Grand National Meet. We received 515 registrations as of April 1, 2018 and we accepted all of them. We also have 519 people attending the banquet. Everyone who signed up is able to attend. Thank you all so much for supporting our meet, and I'm looking forward to seeing all of you.
  4. Hello Everyone! I just sat down to lunch so I figured I'd play on here for a few minutes. The biggest complaint that I've had with my meet so far is the trailer parking that is a few miles from the show field. This isn't done to try and keep out any of the older cars, we want them to come, and I'm sure Hershey and every other meet wants them to come as well. The issue is trying to find areas that can accommodate 500+ cars AND 500 + Tow vehicles AND 500 + Trailers AND the area needed to load and unload in a reasonable manner with out being stuffed in like sardines. It's tough. We like to have meets in a nice environment and park like settings and not in a Wal-Mart parking lot, so that makes it difficult to find areas that can accommodate everything and still be nice looking. Penn Tech and Carlisle Fairgrounds are great places to have meets and seem to be able to handle everything all in one place, but those places also specialize in the car hobby. These larger college campuses assume liability by having us there and even though we pay them something, at the end of the day its pocket change to them when they have endowments worth 10's of millions of dollars. I wish we could do everything all in one place it would make my life easier too. Unfortunately, we do the best we can with what we have to work with. I do appreciate all the comments though and it is easiest to call me (412) 558-0994 M-W-F 6-8PM EST for any help. If you're planning to come to the meet please get your registration in ASAP we're filling up fast!
  5. Hello All! This is John Kuhns Jr. the Chairman of the Grand Nation Meet. I can't stress this enough, I rarely use the computer and the very best way to reach me is by phone (412) 558-0994 M-W-F 6 to 8PM EST. I just wanted to take the time and respond to some of the new questions. There will be free spectator parking at the show site on Saturday June 2, 2018. The host hotel is TOTALLY BOOKED. Additional hotels in the area have been blocked off and reservations are still available at the Hampton Inn, The Springhill Suites and the Holiday Inn Express. There will be no areas at the Show Field for loading and unloading. If we end up letting one person do it its not fair to everyone else. Unfortunately, that just the way the show field is set up. I believe in being transparent and upfront with everyone to avoid issues moving forwad. I want everyone who registers to come and have a great time and I'm really looking forward to the event!
