  4. Hello all, I recently replaced a spun rod bearing on my 29 Buick firetruck and after replacing it realized i am getting very little oil pressure, which is probably why i spun the bearing in the 1st place. Does anyone know of one for sale or someone who can rebuild the one i have? thanks very much, John
  5. No problem, I'll gladly pay for the shipping. I'm in south Jersey so a little far to drive probably. If you go to the post office just let me know what itll cost and what you want for the axle. I can PayPal you or Venmo or cashiers check. Whichever you prefer. Thanks, John

  11. Hello All, I was moving my 33 Plymouth from the garage last night and I didn't let it fully warm up so it sputtered as I was reversing but didn't stall, when it came back to idle I was still in gear and it clunked. now when its in gear the shaft spins freely but doesn't engage the rear. Hopefully nothing too serious. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks again, John
  12. Thank you Fred, I do have the manual thank you for the offer though. I can't find anything about torque specs on the rod caps though. Any idea? Thanks, John
  13. Hello Erik, I think I will have them all done if that's ok with you. If you'd like to give me a call for a little help with the measurements that you need and a roundabout on what it will cost per rod that would be great. Thanks, John Menz (609) 972-1645
  14. I was able to remove the oil manifold last night and everything seems to be in order there, only thing I found was the copper pipe that runs to to the top end seemed a little loose. Ill make some sort of jig to test the oil pump. I removed the rod cap on the bearing in question and the shaft seems to be smooth. any advice one how to check the other bearings? thanks again for the help, you guys really are lifesavers! John
  15. Thank you for the reply, I will get into it hopefully soon. That would be great if you could rebabit the bearings for me, Do you think it would be wise to rebabbit all the bearings while I am in there?
  16. Hello all. Was coming home from a show in my 1929 lafrance Firetruck (29 Buick Master 6 drive train) when the engine developed a terrible knock and began to overheat. When I got home I dropped the oil pan and found a spun connecting rod bearing. My question is can I fix this in the truck w.o removing the motor? Also are the bearings Babbitt? I appreciate any and and all feedback. Thank you!
