  2. Very fine workmanship I father built one very similar back in WW2 he worked in a machine shop for the war effort and was a son of a cabinet maker
  3. First one I used had a screen about the size of a coke bottle and about useful.

  5. I had a mid 80s Ford radio /tape player that a cup of ice and coke poured in it radio repair said junk it. I took it home put it dish washer on rinse and dry. Worked good no further problems
  6. Gary you just brought back a flood of memories for me . The local ham operator my town had license plates with his call letters on it W9JWI I had one of the receivers that you changed the coil on to change the band you could listen to . I think the cord had some kind of resistance in it as the cord would get very warm He had Chevrolet car he had his short wave radio in when he would transmit there was a noise from the trunk that sounded like a starter motor running it was a 1950 Chevy had to be a6volt Mike
  7. FYI I just received a quote to have 2 head light rings replayed it was drum roll. $225.00 each. This man is just about giving the away.
  8. 1st replace the starter drive. Or 1 plug or 5 plus in open throttle or closed Just do each cylinder the same you are looking to get a base line nothing more nothing less
  9. I fail to say that the Allen wrench goes into the vacuum advance unit ( there is an adjustment in side. )
  10. That's just what the man said about my radiator that they fixed for me . I think what they were concerned about was any scale or corrosion shoulder out and scale off when dried out and get into the passages similar to place in your heart
  11. Mike I used Ford's electric grease part number F8AZ19G208AA good for switchs connectors even dist caps. Mike
  12. I'm not real sure about the spark knock but here goes remove the vacuum advance hose insert a 1/8 '' Allen wrench turn it clock wise 1 turn install hose road test. Repeat 1 turn at a time up to 4 turns it should eliminate the spark knock and may cover up the hesitation if not turn it back the number of turns you add. No cost to try Mike let me know

  14. Looking for bow sockets or top irons. Just need for a pattern could be rusty crusty don't need both sides . for a 1918 Dodge Brothers Touring car could be other years 14---- 20. Or just some very good measurements .
  15. Could someone get me a drawing of the sockets with measurements for each part along with hole size and all measurement please. Mike
  16. Mark I watched that video and now I would like to copy then original sockets and linkage for the 1918 I have. The old story someone made it I can copy it. Thanks Mike
  17. I need top sockets or top irons any thing one side just need for pattern do not need the wood bows for a Dodge Brothers touring car . I can modify to fit the car. If they made them over 100 yrs ago I surely can do it today. Thanks. Mike

  21. Gary the best tune up shop in our town in the 40s /50s had 2 feeler gauges .015 8 cylinder .020 4&6 cylinder.

  23. Look in the Studebaker or Avanti magazine there are adds in there for the repair parts you are needing.
  24. Mercer I'm sure you could be right comfortable in the fluffy seats could have your name embroider on them at no additional charge.
