  1. Yes, my car has a/c. It was still easy to move.
  2. Had the same issue. I corrected it by enlarging the holes on the top radiator bracket that mounts to the core support. This allowed me to push the radiator back just enough that it did not rub any more.
  3. I recently installed a rear package tray from Clarks myself. I bought a roll of heavy duty velcro and used it across the back so that i didnt need to drill those 3 holes. Worked really well.

    No, the shoes probably have no miles on them. The car sat in the corner of a bodyshop all those years, so never exposed to the outside elements, and I stated that they have some overspray on them, not painted. But hey thanks for the comic relief buddy. Everyone has been helpful, but not sure why you waste your time posting Tom?

    OPGI was not claiming to to be an OEM replacemnt. It is a dual master, for the drum/drum configuration. They also have one for disc/drum and disc/disc. Those ones include proportioning valves it appears. For my knowledge, what would make the one I have not function as it should? I am reluctant to pull it off as it was fairly costly and not the easiest thing to swap back out. The rear end did not have any drums on it when I got the car, so the shoes were exposed for many years and upon examination I noticed they had a lot of primer overspray on them.

    I do not. The car had been going through a restoration when I got it, and the old booster/master had seen better days. It was tossed when replaced. OPGI sells several different booster/master combos for 1gen Rivieras and this one was specifically for the drum/drum application.

    All the shoes are on correct. I will go ahead and order new ones and see if anything changes.

    Thanks for the tips everyone. I cant get out to the shop until tomorrow night to check if the shoes are on correctly. If they are correct, I will order new ones. The shoes on it look new, but are probably 30 plus years old.
  10. On my 64 Riviera, I am having issues with the brakes. I am running the stock drums front and back. Front drums are in spec and recently turned. Rear drums are new. All new wheel cylinders. New booster/dual master from OPGI. All new steel and rubber lines as well. My issue is when I apply the brakes, they initially work, then they grab and lock up. I have had the wheels on and off adjusting them many times and nothing is correcting it. At this point I feel it must be something simple I am overlooking. Just seeing if anyone else has experienced something similar and has any suggestions. Thanks

  13. I have lots of sheet metal for 1st generation Riviera's. Hoods, deck lids, fenders, 4 sets of doors, and fuel tank. The hoods and fenders have some rust, but the deck lids and doors do not. My question is, is there much of a market for these items. They take up so much space, I can't hang on to it all. I am located in Columbus, Ohio. I have a lot of other parts as well, it's just the sheet metal eats up so much space. Any thoughts or opinions is appreciated. Thanks Brian

  17. I am getting closer and closer to getting my project Riviera running. I am having trouble finding a few pieces, was looking for either parts numbers or a vendor that may sell these. I can't find the Parking Lamp Relay. I don't have one, and can't seem to find a relay with the 2 prong configuration of the plug. Next, I can't find an original style overflow tank. Also, I cant source anyone that has the front seat, front brackets. I have 2, but need 2 more. I could probably make some in a pinch, but if someone has them or reproduces them, that would be best. I am sure more items will come up, but for now these few items are holding me up. Any help is appreciated. I am looking forward to hearing this thing purr!
  18. Yeah, both wheels were turning same direction. I am looking forward to getting it road worthy to try her out. Motor and trans have both been rebuilt since last on road. Prev. Owner states it is pushing 500hp. Not 100 percent convinced myself, but regardless it should still get down the road pretty well.
  19. Ok, I was referring to the Gran Sport. Sorry for the confusion. The driveshaft turned roughly 3.5 times for one revolution of the wheel. This is why I believe it has the 3.42 gears. I found the X on the bottom also. Thanks for all the help, I am pretty sure it is out of the 65 Gran Sport he parted out at this time. This will help in ordering the correct rear brake drums and components. I have found Original Parts Group and CARS both carry them, any other places I should check?
  20. After testing, I believe it has 3.42 gears.
  21. Is the X on the top or bottom? How big is it? I have been looking for it to no prevail.
  22. It was not the smaller Gran Sport. It was the Riviera GS. I have all the doors and interior pieces from it as spares or re-home. Thanks again for the help
  23. The center of the hub measures 2 3/4". This leads me to believe the rear end is out of a 65. The guy I purchased off of parted out a 65 GS, so it's possible its off that car. He parted out eight 1st Gen Rivs and I got all that he had left, and he saved the best of everything for this car.
  24. Thanks for the reply. My main concern was I noticed 64 and 65 rear drums had different part numbers. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a 65 rear end. It looks to have been replaced since last driven. It has 2 sets of emergency brake cables currently and new hardware.
