  1. Does anyone know if they make a rubber seal for the pinion gear on 1936 dodge P/U. I have had no luck with the leather ones.
  2. My ignition switch on my 36 pickup is stopped working. I can see that the wire within the shield cable is frailed right where it enters the steel cable. Can I use a generic 6 volt ignition switch. I want to retain my button start. The original switch is a three wire.
  3. Underneath my newly acquired 1936 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup. I'm going through all the lube points. The manual indicates a lubrication point on the shaft that the clutch pedal and brake pedal pivot on. It says to use engine oil. I see an small open hole that faces toward the ground. Is this it and should the hole be facing towards the top as to prevent the lube from just dripping out. It is not threaded or i would put a grease fitting in it . What would be a better lube other than engine oil?
  4. I have a working tach drive distributor out of 56 Bird. It has a remanufactured dual vacuum advance unit installed, I have an additional dual vacuum advance unit. Distributor has pertronic electronics installed. Includes cap and tach cable. $480.00 plus shipping.
  5. Thanks alot , I need new glasses! Did some models come without vacuum advance, the motor is suppose to be original to truck, most I have seen have vacuum advance.
  6. Love that dashboard and shape of gauges.
  7. Need help to identify an autolite distributor. Tag is really worn looks like HOC (or HCC) 4402 17 0007400. On a 1936 201 motor. No vacuum advance. Is this the correct distributor for this motor.
  8. Thank you Sir. Wow those are very nice vehicles.I can see from some of the pictures that the vehicle Im looking at is missing some things.
  9. Hello, im looking at purchasing a 1936 Dodge Pickup. It has the 201 motor. Iwas doing a walkaround and noticed that the distributor didnt have a vacuum advance nor was there a place on distributor to attach one. Also didnt see any hoses for heater. Was told dont need vacuum advance or oil filter. I want to make a list of things that need replaced/repaired. I diffently want to install oil filter even if its a by pass system. As to distributor vacuum advance wont my mileage and performance suffer without one. My last vehicle was 56 tbird and I know them inside out. This is first go with 30's vehicle and I need to learn. Plan on searching this site to see what should be with this motor so I can met with owner and discuss. Thanks
