  1. I ended cutting the bottom of a water bottle . I folded it a little and cut it with a spout. It worked good!
  2. Good morning gentlemen, I’m looking for any pictures or explanation on how you mounted tube shocks on your Buicks. Links to post are welcome. thanks for any help.
  3. Just wanted to thank everyone for all the help finding parts for this old girl. Finally got her up and running today.
  4. I bought this car for drivetrain parts. All body parts and trim pieces are for sale. The front clip is sold, but every thing behind that is available. I’ve read that this model is somewhat rare? Let me know if you need anything.
  5. I think your correct. It’s still on the trailer and I’m not able to see how it’s mounted on the block. I’m going to pull the front clip then the engine in a couple weeks. I’ll try to get some better pics then.
  6. Here is a pic of a 49 I just picked up. The motor mount was definitely lowered i just can’t tell how they dropped on the engine. I can get better pics in a couple weeks when I find time to pull the front clip and engine.
  7. Thanks Greg, I’ll definitely let you know if I need anything. I’m pretty excited to find this. I think it will go really well with the the theme of my car! ( kind of old school hot rod /cruiser) I have a few other projects to finish up in the garage so it might be a slow start.
  8. I now have an intake have rebuilt the carb and thanks to 2carb40 I also have a really nice exhaust manifold. Thanks Greg. Go figure as soon as I find all this stuff I found a great deal on a car with duel carbs and manifolds. Just the way it goes I guess?
  9. The serial number on this motor is 71000344 any help would be appreciated.
  10. Hello guys. I just picked up a 49 special today. Mainly for parts and spare parts for my 46 super. The main reason for the purchase was the dual carbs and duel exhaust manifolds. I know nothing about these set ups except they were available in 41 and 42 models. This looks like a more modern 263 motor. Any suggestions on the set up will be appreciated?
  11. Thanks for the tip fellas. I live in Washington about 164 miles away and picked it up today. It’s not a scam
  12. Apparently I am going to be looking for an exhaust manifold also. Because some jackass hack back in the day tried to drill out a broken bolt and missed his mark. This is the top of the manifold that bolts to the warmer.
  13. The intake warmer seems to be pretty much stuck closed? I’m sure that doesn’t help the performance? Haha
  14. Now knowing what I know about this car . Thanks to everyone’s help here. It has changed my original direction for the car. My plan is still to go through all the mechanics of the car,but not concern myself with oem or factory parts and just go ahead and update a few things. Make it drive and stop well. Then enjoy it. And tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
  15. Been tinkering on the old girl. Removed the intake and have started inspecting brakes and bearings.
