Can the op give us the auction info? Maybe someone here can buy it and show everyone how easy it is to get it running again.

Did you leave the upper tank empty or fill to the top of the neck? It needs some expansion room or it will puke.

I agree that you should not do judging. It takes a lot of volunteer judges, it takes more time than you think it will, and someone always gets upset. Skip any formal judging and keep it casual. The show will be better without it.
Maybe make the people's choice award something desirable but only cars that register and pay a nominal entry fee ($5?) are eligible. That way the show is open to everyone but if you want a prize you have to register and pay a little. Maybe the prize is a trophy plus something useful like a meal at your Cafe or some donated item of some value.

I think putting in restricters is a good idea. Since this cars does not have a thermostat (or does it?) the water is possibly moving too fast. A car with a thermostat already has a restricter in a sense. I bet Lincoln engineers would have added one if they existed. Try it and see. What can it hurt?

Thank you Bloo and Rusty.
I found one of those tune up sheets on ebay and it says "cam angle 36 degrees". Is that the same as dwell?

Im working with a friend on his 1930's car with a flathead 6 cylinder and the manual says .020 inch points gap. We set it there but I still dont think its quite rite because the exhaust isnt smooth. I always use a dwell meter but the manual for this car doesnt show a dwell setting. Its probly too old and was made before dwell meters. Anyway I see that other 6 cylinder cars like a Chevy from the 50's have a dwell of 31-34 degrees. Would it be a good idea to use that as a best guess or is there some downside to setting dwell without knowing the exact number? Is there a conversion for .020 gap to dwell degrees?
Thanks for any help......

The better question is what gears exist for your car? 3.55 is probably too low given the tall tires and low horsepower. Most "high speed" gears are in the 3.90 range. Are such gears even available for your car?

Has it been sitting with water in it? What kind of engine? Is the part cast iron and rusting itself or is it some other metal (that would suggest the rust is in the rest of the engine too)? Their are lot's of posts here about using Evaporust to clean the inside of engines maybe that is a possiblity?

BaT isnt the right place for a car liek that. They dont know what it is unless its a BMW or Porsche.

They are a invasive pest that eats everything and screws up crops but they are harmless to people and cars other than just being everywhere.

What an absolute JOKE! Thank God a good friend of mine copied & saved the COMPLETE thread in a PDF file showing the overreaching & arbitrary acts of a megalomaniac whose ideology deludes him into believing he is better, smarter & more able to create a title for someone else's thread!

I dont think thats a brake line. I believe thats a hydraulic line that feeds the power seat from the big pump under the hood. The same system should also power the power top and power windows (if equipped).
