  1. I agree that you should not do judging. It takes a lot of volunteer judges, it takes more time than you think it will, and someone always gets upset. Skip any formal judging and keep it casual. The show will be better without it.

    Maybe make the people's choice award something desirable but only cars that register and pay a nominal entry fee ($5?) are eligible. That way the show is open to everyone but if you want a prize you have to register and pay a little. Maybe the prize is a trophy plus something useful like a meal at your Cafe or some donated item of some value.

  2. Im working with a friend on his 1930's car with a flathead 6 cylinder and the manual says .020 inch points gap. We set it there but I still dont think its quite rite because the exhaust isnt smooth. I always use a dwell meter but the manual for this car doesnt show a dwell setting. Its probly too old and was made before dwell meters. Anyway I see that other 6 cylinder cars like a Chevy from the 50's have a dwell of 31-34 degrees. Would it be a good idea to use that as a best guess or is there some downside to setting dwell without knowing the exact number? Is there a conversion for .020 gap to dwell degrees?

    Thanks for any help......

  3. Has it been sitting with water in it? What kind of engine? Is the part cast iron and rusting itself or is it some other metal (that would suggest the rust is in the rest of the engine too)? Their are lot's of posts here about using Evaporust to clean the inside of engines maybe that is a possiblity?

    What an absolute JOKE! Thank God a good friend of mine copied & saved the COMPLETE thread in a PDF file showing the overreaching & arbitrary acts of a megalomaniac whose ideology deludes him into believing he is better, smarter & more able to create a title for someone else's thread!

    @Tom,

    Is the brake master cylinder accessed under carpet or under floor, bottom side?

    The picture should i believe to be a break line going through the floor to under driver seat.

    I will post in the Lincoln and Zephyr.

    I dont think thats a brake line. I believe thats a hydraulic line that feeds the power seat from the big pump under the hood. The same system should also power the power top and power windows (if equipped).
