Problem is its not there. Can a new one be made from the vin number??
-
negative. Under the hood right???
-
My vin number is in place , but no where can I find the body tag. I am getting the impression that mine is not the original color. Found a spot that is wedgewood blue (under a seal) but the whole car is red. (lots of money spent to convert . Should be under the hood??? 65 electra.

Anyone know where I can get the radio out of my 65 checked and repaired. I can't seem to find anyone on the west coast. Also isn't there a body tag under the hood that tells basic info. Mine was redone before I purchased (and not very well at that) but I found when taking a pillar seal out that there is blue paint on the body and the car is Red all the way around. It looks like it was wedgewood blue originally. Vin tag doesn't say anything

Thanks for all the info. The only replacements I can find (new) are at The Parts Place on e-bay. The used ones I see look worse than mine

What I have found is Late 65 to 1970 are the same in all G.M. 63- early 65 are the same. I remember reading the difference is something to do with the header panel being cast or plate steel but cannot confirm as in my old age forgot where I read that at. Was looking on e-bay and they are $130 plus each. Mine are chrome as I suspect they all are. Mine are pitted and the area where the visor shaft goes in is worn out. Maybe a brass paper thin shim????????? I can polish out the chrome as mine is a driver and not a show car.
-
I cannot see a build date on my tag either. Just the serial number. 214,081 are the last numbers. Was just thinking of replacing the chrome sun visor housings as they are worn out and expensive. May try to bush them out a little.

Also need the same piece except for the trunk lid. All tabs present please. Also if anyone has an am-fm radio. (working)

Beautiful.. I just picked up a 65. Same as your except mine is RED -
my concern is riveting the clip to the main piece. Really dont want to take the fuzzy off and then the question of the rivets.
