  1. In my book, AWESOME! It's a shame Chrysler only built these cars with 4/6 cylinders and front wheel drive. Some of us want more! You may not know about this but there is a company that makes full frames for unibody cars. This would be the way to go for such a conversion. Of course this would have to done by the owner because it's not made for the TC.
  2. I eventually plan on a 5.7 hemi swap. And yes, rear wheel drive. Possibly independent i haven't got into that far yet. If you look on youtube you can find Lebaron/Daytona V8 swaps that may give you some ideas. Granted it will be more involved than just putting in a different engine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oRzN2bQDdE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YdBBlFiAXA
  3. Look locally if any are available near you... http://car-part.com/ https://www.partshotlines.com/ Might try ebay also.
  4. Chrysler used both the Garret and Mitsubishi in the turbo cars. You can get rebuild kits and rebuild it yourself.
  5. What was the brand name of the pick up coil? Don't buy the crap (BWD) that many of the parts stores sell because they are junk. Stick with Delphi brand they are a supplier for the auto manufactures.
  6. Pics??? They are called gas springs and come in all kind of sizes and strengths. Look at the one on it and see if you see any part #'s on it.
  7. The asd relay powers the fuel pump, I know this from working on my Daytona and le baron. (It's how i power up the fuel pump to get the stale gas out of the line) If it's not coming on the pcm is not powering it up so it may be bad. Check that the pcm is getting power from the ignition switch before you replace it. The asd relay doesn't stay on with the ignition switch. It with stay on long enough to prime the pump then shut off unless you crank it.
  8. E&G Classic/5th Wheel Kit Do a google or ebay search and you will find one.
  9. I would sell it in the same places i look for cars, ebay craigs list any of the car listing sites like auto trader or copart etc. Here!
  10. 1989 Chr TC con is exactly how it reads on mine. You need to speak with somebody at your local DMV and make sure they know what the car is. Listing can change depending on the state. When i had mine transferred they actually had to look it up as they where not familial with it. The "tc" does not stand for town and country but turbo coupe and is a completely different vehicle.
  11. Yea i would have to agree, Looks like he is thinking "what is wrong with you people putting me in one of theses things".
  12. Get one of these... http://www.wagstrailers.com/
  13. I see a lot of modern compressors on big blocks, Even ones with the fresh air package. https://originalair.com/mopar-compressor-upgrades
  14. One thing that was not mentioned it was produced when leaded gas was available. The heads do not have hardened valve seats. Running today's gas will cause the valves to wear into the head. If you plan on actually driving it i would do some freshening up with the motor. You can get hardened valve seats put in the existing heads or get later castings ones that have them. As mentioned they used timing gears with a plastic coating that breaks off and falls into the pan. A new double roller set will fix this. And i'm sure the gaskets on a 50 year old motor will need to be replaced(oil leaks). Don't take this is as a negative just pointing out a few things! I own nothing but mopars and you will not be sorry if you purchase it.
  15. You might want to search the old posts, I know there are a few on the subject.
  16. Might help to list where you are! Post pics wouldn't hurt either.
  17. Do you need the switch or the sender? There are two, One for the idiot light and one for the gauge. I just happen to strip down my block yesterday(98 2.2 8V) and the sender looked like this... ( AIRTEX/WELLS 5G9 ) Not sure if the 16V's are any different but look at the old one and see what you have. It's next to the right of the distributor lower on the block under the freeze plug. There is a round adapter that they both screw into.
  18. Code 17 as per the 1989 TC service manual is " engine running too cool ". Some mil codes mean different things for vehicle and year as you can see in the display(#1 and #2). You need to get this fixed then move on if you still are having problems.
  19. Code 17 is engine running too cool. Bad thermostat(staying open).
  20. It does have a salvage title so something happened to it. How and by who is the question. The dust on the motor says a body shop had it. It has over 150k and he is listing it as 56K. I would ask DMV about it for the details before buying it unless you are using it for only parts.
  21. KBB is more or less for newer vehicles. Might try Hagerty... https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationtools/1990-Chrysler-TC_by_Maserati But then it comes down to colors, Depends on what people are looking for. Might try looking at what ones sell for on ebay.
  22. Actually it's more expensive! R134 conversion https://www.pepboys.com/product/details/9077526/00745 $39.90
  23. Did you see this thread? http://forums.aaca.org/topic/160342-new-16-v-maserati-valve-cover-gaskets/?page=4
