  1. 39 Roadmaster, all original survivor. Parked 35 years, dry garage. No rust, no rot, all original interior in good shape including headliner. Had some recent upgrades, new clutch, new radiator, etc. Runs great, upgraded to 12 volt, electronic ignition, bigger Rochester carb, reliable and lots of power. Driven pretty much every day. Not a trailer queen. Good paint and tires. Any questions ,let me know. 23500.
  2. Thanks John, yea I drive this pretty much every day. I converted it to 12 volts and put in an electronic ignition, starts quickly, put on larger Rochester carb, has plenty of power, great daily driver. I remember my father always had Buick’s in the 30s, 40s and 50s. I’ve gone to California many times in one of them. No fear of ever being stuck. As far as the health, just part of being three quarters of a century old.
  3. 1939 Roadmaster, very nice shape, true survivor. 70,000 miles parked for 35 years in garage, refurbished recently, new clutch, radiator, etc. runs great. A true daily driver. Health and financial issues force sale. $22,000.
  4. Testing out a manifold and new carb on the 39. Drove 100 miles just to make sure. Lots more power
  5. Probably shouldn’t give away Ford out of school talk. In the early 60s I worked at the Ford factory in Jersey. After a long day of building trucks and cars, some of us were assigned as repair men. Spent hours repairing all the damage sloppy build that went on all day. Plenty of work and overtime replacing seats, fenders, windshield, etc on brand new cars. If we misse something, we were told don’t worry about it, the dealer will fix. Of course no one ever told the dealers.
  6. Dual intake with carbs. Sitting for years, need rebuild. Exhaust flange had crack, was welded. Looks good. Also 39 radio. $800 for all.
  7. Hi Matt, just measured it, 34 1/2 ear to ear. Let me know so I don’t tell people the wrong thing.
  8. Buick straighteight dual carb setup, includes two carbs. Stored for years. Carbs need rebuilding. Had crack on outgoing exhaust flange, welded. Got it when I bought my 39. Rodding the car so selling extra parts, including radio and large white wheels and tires.$800. For manifold and carbs.
  9. Thanks for the come back. There are holes in the frame but don't have any marks on the metal ,nothing was ever in the holes and no scrapes or pry marks around like it was moved. The plate on the side looks to have been on there since assembly. The number is correct to the number stamped on the top of the rear frame arch by the back right rear tire. The number is 13518630. I was curious if anyone else had ever seen this before.
  10. hi guys, had asked this before and got good answere, new glitch, I have a 39 Roadmaster, the books say serial should be on plate next to starter on top of frame, negative, holes are there but nothing has been them, there is the Buick logo vin tag on the side of the frame a little further back, looks like it's been there since 39. I see the book also says the 38 had the vin on the side where this one is, anyone else had this experience. Is this possibly an early 39 or late 38 production. I know back then production lines were a little different. I hav some experience as I worked on the Ford assembly line in Mahwah during the early sixties.
  11. Thank you very much 39buick eight. I will look there again, I did a quick sand from just in front of the wheel to the back of the car. Just enough room to get my hand in. Can see on an angle and used a mirror. Thanks again for the help, now I'll really look.
  12. Hi guys, brand new to forum. Long time old guy and old cars. Question to anyone who knows where the confidential vin is on a 39 Buick road master. Have the engine number and the vin plate riveted to the frame near the starter. Would like to match that to the number stamped somewhere on the frame. Was told was on the top of the frame behind the right rear wheel. Looked, can't find, before I continue sanding I thought somebody can tell me the right location, thanks
