  1. Looking for the captioned Knob. I have a later (working) switch but need an original looking knob. I haven't seen one but assume it is similar to the throttle and choke knobs which are ivory colored plastic with chrome outer ring. I assume this knob has a chrome "H" in the center; it goes without saying that I have searched all the usual places to no avail.
  2. The title says it all. I have been looking far and and wide with no success. Seems to be specific to '34. Any help out there? Crank hole cover.tif
  3. I need to know what (currently available) oil I should use in the shock absorbers. Owner's manual is not too helpful.
  4. Recently changed oil to 15/30 syn blend (Hemmings) from straight 30 in my '34 DRXX; Pressure is now a little lower at cruise ( 28 psi @ 30 mph) but quite low at idle. I'm in favor of the better lubricating quality of syn but worry about the lower oil pressure. Is the pressure more, less or about equal in importance to the relative lubrication qualities? Perhaps 15/50w oould have been a better choice??
  5. Time for the first oil change on my watch. Manual calls for 20wt. and I assume this should be non detergent and single viscosity. Not much history came with car but I assume the engine has been rebuilt. 81500 on the odometer. Runs cool, smooth, clean and (72 hp) strong Is there a problem with using 30wt.? Can't seem to locate any 20wt.
  6. Thanks for the pic keiser31.. at least now I know what to look for... btw, it must be obvious that I'm a taker if you find one!
  7. I have been unsuccessful in my crank-hole-cover-quest. Any help out there? Can't say I even know what one looks like but I know that the ones that fit the '33's don't work on the '34.
  8. I'm baffled by what to do (what should I add, if anything, to fuel in Calif. where it's all laced with ethanol) 34 Dodge.
  9. I'm having no good luck in finding the radiator cap (less Mascot). If you see this Ian Greenlaw, I'd appreciate any more specifics ie: you mentioned that a '29 Packard cap works.. any particular model Packard or part no? Nothing on EBay that I can find.. I guess you got the last two! (Don't want to part with one do you)?
  10. Thanks to Keiser 31 for clarifying the two part rams horn. pretty fine mating job! Thanks also to Ian Greenlaw for his elegant take on curing the situation. Now all I need apparently, is a Packard radiatior cap. Any offers?
  11. Here are two pics of the Ram's head part of the radiator cap that is called for on my '34 Dodge DRXX 4dr. The base profile matches exactly to the top of the radiator and is a genuine Dodge part carrying the #: 388078 which seems to me that it is one of two parts; part # 388077 is shown in the parts list as a "Radiator cap with sheep" leading me to believe that this is the number correlating to the complete unit.
  12. Here are two pics of the Ram's head part of the radiator cap that is called for on my '34 Dodge DRXX 4dr. The base profile matches exactly to the top of the radiator and is a genuine Dodge part carrying the #: 388078 which seems to me that it is one of two parts; part # 383077 is shown in the parts list as a "Radiator cap with sheep" leading me to believe that this is the number correlating to the complete unit. The ram's head is in no way replaceable on this unit; it is a one piece casting.
  13. The ram's Horn radiator cap seems to come in two parts: The Mascot and the underlying actual radiator cap; I am blessed with the Rams's horn (mascot) part but not the underlying "business end" part; The Mascon has 4 small spacer/leveling posts and a tapped center hole in the bottom and I assume this tapped hole receives an attaching bolt which comes up from the missing part below to connect the two. Dodge part number (for what I assume is both parts) is: 383077 any help locating this will be welcomed.
  14. I belatedly appreciate your responses; am sifting thru pieces parts currently available and will contact you lndividually should the need arise.
  15. Looking for info on the radio installation. The panel mounted parts are installed intact but I have nothing else except two vernier type cables that appear to have connected remotely to the major radio components; I would like to complete the system even though I doubt it would function.
