  1. I believe they are conical shaped but most of the rubbers were missing when I took it apart but what was left of one looked conical I will check restoration specialties and let you know. THANKS
  2. I was looking at dorman rubber products bumpers and they look like a stud is vulcanized in the bumper and it would fit in my metal base which is like a large washer with a square hole in it and as long as the bumper is the same size it would work. I did check Steele rubber and they want like 85 bucks for a pair and Dorman wants about 10 bucks apiece for theirs that is why I am looking for the sizes for both the a-frame and control arm as they are different sizes the larger one is 2 and 1\8 and the other is 1 and 5\8 across the bottom.
  3. Trying to find exact size of rubber bumpers on my a-frame and lower control arm to match up to ones for sale on e bay I have the bases but just need the rubber.
  4. Looking for a rear trans oil seal for my 39 dodge business coupe or the part number for one. Thanks
  5. OK guys found a pair from chief rob very reasonable and fast and free delivery.
  6. My car is a 1939 dodge business coupe and was wondering if this is a rare model as I have yet to see one at a car show yet is there a website to look up a specific car? I found my car in an old garage in Puxatawney Pa while looking at another car so I think I got lucky the car runs great and drives well it only needs a new master cylinder which I already rebuilt. The car has all of it's parts and is missing nothing but a knob for the seat adjuster the body and frame are mostly rust and rot free with just a couple of places that need repair from an amature restore some years back they used roof flashing for metal in some spots that were rusted out so I will be doing a frame off to do it correctly I am retired and have the garage, tools and time. So far the front end is off and engine and trans out and the engine is going to a buddy of mine from Vietnam for a rebuild and I am in the long process of degreasing wire wheeling priming and painting all of the smaller parts from the car. Any help would be appreciated.

  8. I recently found a 1939 Dodge business coupe in an old building in Puxatawney Pa while looking at a 1955 Merc and fell in love with it and was able to pick it up for 7grand the car ran and drove beautiful and just needed a master cylinder and the car is complete and is missing nothing and has very little rust or rot but the running boards need work and someone did some body work years back and used roof flashing to do the repairs so I am doing a frame off restoration. So far I have the front end off and motor and trans out and am sending the motor to my buddy I was with in Vietnam and he will probably do rings and bearings and replace the freeze out plugs that were weeping and replace all seals it was leaking oil.I am stopping at the cowl for now and am in the process of cleaning and sandblasting the small parts and frame and front end to the cowl then painting and undercoating everything then get the front end and fenders ready to paint a lot of work for sure but I am retired and plan to do most of the work myself except final body work and paint. On the subject of paint it is painted marine beige and I am not in love with it and was wondering if I should change the color but want to keep the car as original as I can and if I paint it another color will it hurt the value of the car. I will post pics as soon as I figure out how to do it I just get by on the computer so maybe my daughter can help me. If any one knows if this car is rare or not as I have yet to see one at a car show yet.
  9. OK will do I just have to figure how to post my pics I just get by on the computer.
  10. Thanks so much I will have to get a parts book.
  11. I also have a 39 business coupe are you doing a restoration on it?
  12. I am doing a frame off restoration on my 1939 dodge and from what I can find out t s a pretty rare car I have been to a couple of car shows and have not seen a 39 business coupe yet. I have done a lot of work on cars bt this is my first frame off and any advise would be appreciated. The car s very sold with little rot or rust so far have the front end off the car and motor and trans out and am sending the motor to a buddy of mine from Vietnam and he will rebuild it for me it ran very good but I noticed quite a few oil leaks and the freezeout plugs were weeping also a lot of sludge in the pan and lifter area..I want to keep it as original as I possibly can but the color of the car is not so nice it is a marine beige and was wondering if I repaint it can I change the color without affecting the value of the car? Thanks in advance for the help.
