  1. Scammed? I will say he paid a lot for the car to be hauled. If it was the northwest corner of Washington state hauled to the Miami FL it was still high. If the car was delivered in good condition and on time he got what he contracted for. Now the price was about $1000. Too high. The trucker took advantage of a man needing hauling service. Not a thing wrong charging for a job that is hard and takes a lot of time. There are limits and customers should be advised when something is going to cost a lot of money. I tell my customers all the time why something is going to be expensive. I make certain they understand cost factors.
  2. Safety first and foremost. Im changing out tires on an 18’ dovetail with ramps and 4 wheels. The tires show tiny cracks around the circumference right in the groove. The tires have plenty of tread, but it is time. im going for an 8 ply 205/75/15 R trailer tire. The tire is D load rated. The 4 tires are rated to carry 10000lbs. I balance my load so its as easy as it is going to be to tow. im lucky the trailer tracks straight. Im surprised it does not jump, wobble, or sway. Im towing with a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD. Im hauling a 4000 lb 63 Buick Riviera. Im no pro, but i had experience driving hay and feed straight job trucks as a boy. My lessons learned are go the speed limit and pay attention with escape route plan all the time. Load correctly with proper balance and tie down technique. my car is a driver but sometimes I need to haul the car because of plans.
  3. Your creativity and imagination is consistent with some of the things I remember in Southern California. Chrome wire baskets with chrome knock offs and discrete use of “dummy spots” on early model Chevrolet come to mind. Also, at one time the style of mounting an Olsmobile 88 white ( with deep V) steering wheel on their cars was hot.
  4. I know the 63 service manual has the diagram of where color coded hoses go. Maybe the 64 manual has the same info. i colored the diagram hoses with ink pen ( very fine point) as per illustration. The color guide you can use while you are installing the color marked hose. i posted on this forum “ 11-79……” illustration of where the colored coded hoses go for the 63. This is for reference.
  5. Here is an expansion of a newly chrome plated Buick Roadwheel. Webs are powder costed satin black. i tiny touch up needed but that is all.
  6. Very nice to have. I have my 63 owners manual with type written info in the back your 3.very cool Turbinator
  7. SOLD OUT! Thank you for your business. Turbinator
  8. Walt, I certainly do thank the volunteers on the judging field. They work hard and are genuine in their efforts to have us have a great time. Thank you for your post. Turbinator
  9. I saw more toys than I saw parts for my car. I was able to buy a service manual I could use. It was obvious to me I just couldn’ t find the section I wanted. I was in the toy, ball cap, and T shirt section most everyday. There was an innocent appearing lady collecting $20 at the entrance For handicap parking. Can anyone chime in and confirm the lady was working for the park or AACA? Initially I was jealous I had not thought of her creativity. Turbinator
  10. Its the best car show ive ever attended; muchless participate with an automobile to be judged. Each car is as good as the next. Some groups of contestants have cars that are the top of the top automotive art. There were 19 sheets with about 58 winners were per sheet. Estimates were 1200 entries for the car show. If my math is correct then approximately 92% of the participants earned some type of an award. In my not so humble opinion ( which is typically correct) each and every award was earned. I was impressed each and every car was as good as the next for any preservation group. Later Gator Turbinator
  11. You might inquire with Custom Coil Spring in Kansas. CSS gave me the coul springs I wanted for my 63 Riviera. There are other coil spring companies that might be less expensive or more expensive. CSS made for me what I wanted. Turbinator
  12. Agreed. For the life of me I cannot why Clark’s Corvair won’t can their legacy web page and pricing system and get a new system. Could be more than what Mr Clark wants to spend? Computer system updates can be pricey. I understand things cost money and after all it his business. He can do as he pleases. We can shop where we please. It’s a very simple game. Later Gator 🐊
  13. Sir, I MIGHT be able to get the vacuum piece that will fit your car. stand by bob
  14. 15”x6” I noticed you wanted another set shown in the post. I missed that, but US Mags ( I think makes that design)
  15. Try these : newly chromed PM if interested in ordering a set: your color 2 stage paint. Color your specific paint brand, brand color, and paint code is optional. Plus freight.
  16. Looks good to me. I had a friend who had a 65 Impala with “ wire baskets “and a knock off. The wire baskets bolted on to a bracket that was bolted on the chrome wheel. With the wire basket capped down over the chrome wheel with a 2 bar spinner bolted in it looked good.
  17. Lee, agree with you on the supply and demand angle on the Riviera 65’s. On the looks I’m all about the 64/64. The 65 is a Riviera I like too. I’d own a 65 if that was all that was available. Let me tell you why. The 65 Riviera Gran Sport is a wanna be “ everything “ 2 door luxury sport coupe that’s a hot rod, I’m the last guy to talk someone out of liking their dream car. From my point of view the Gran Sport is cool with all the options. For my money a better return of my satisfaction would be to soup up a 65 Chevy set up to be a hot rod is the way to go. For my cruiser 63,64,65 stock nailhead and mostly standard equipment with a few upgrades is all I’d want. For now ai have a clean 63 Riviera driver and a right nice 64 Chevy Impala Super Sport 327, The Riviera runs real good. The Chevy runs but the engine needs to be rebuilt. So, to each his/her own. 19. 1966 I had a new CL77 Honda 305 Scrambler. I was 15 1/2 yrs when I bought the bike. Chrome bobbed front fender, head light shell, skid plate, air cleaner cover, tool box, engine plate top cover, center stand, kick stand, tail light bracket …. Custom two color flame paint on tank and back fender. im starting add some new bling to my 63. No Buick Roadwheels on the 63, just turbines. Turbinator
  20. There are a multitude of ways to refresh light rust on chrome. Coca Cola with aluminum foil is a way to refresh the chrome. Our goal is to keep the surface rust free. I’d like to know once the chrome surface is refreshed how do you keep the surface shining? Lator Gator 🐊
  21. Not a bad idea. You could find them and buy them low and sell a tiny bit higher. Everyone comes out a winner. please a 47-49 Caddy Series 62 in great shape. I’d buy it at the fair price.
  22. Some of us view finding hard to find items as a hobby. Winston, but on the note “ business” sure is in the business of your hobby or the business of business finding what You want. I think we agree some of us are better than others at digging up what we want or need. My job required mining information about the strangest topics, but it was business and was to be done correctly. I admire the quality level of your collector vehicles. You have tops of the top of what I’ve seen. I enjoy cooking up stuff to be made and sell to those that want it. Those that don’t want it because Buick didn’t make it does not hurt my feelings. There are a great group of people in the ROA. We all cannot agree, but we manage to get along. BTW, I beat the haircell grain to death with legit info about the grain for the dashes. First the haircell designation of the grain will get no argument from me. Haircell it is. Haircell identifies the hair side of the animal. The hair follicles have a pattern for each animal. Suede grain from a pig will be different than cowhide grain. Let’s add in the vinyl is embossed from a metal plate from a human. I contend the haircell grains do change from 63,64, and 65. I saw Tom Telesco’s original dash pad from his 64 and took in a real trade from s 65. Both grains were different, but not so different they both could not be haircell grain. This is my opinion based on research on an item that appears no one cares about. As always I’m happy to be persuaded to see things in another light. Hope you are well AND my favorite dog of all time is happy and healthy. Later Gator 🐊
