I'm looking for the chrome spacers that fit on the front and rear bumperbars. Does anyone have any of these for sale, or does anyone know of anyone making reproductions.

Hi Henry, I only just saw your reply. Do you still have the assist straps, if so how much do you want for them. John.

1929-30 Studebaker, can anyone tell me if the door catch strike plate ( the female part that is fixed to the door pillar) on closed cars. Is chrome or nickel plated, or painted, if so what what colour.

I'm not 100 percent sure, I think they are the same as Model A Ford, you will have to turn the arm around 45 degrees. Readily avaialable from MAcs Ford parts, Snyder's and others.

I have a 2006 Chrysler 5.7 Hemi, which has HID headlights. When I first got it 19 years ago, I use to get flashed by the oncoming traffic. Now that people are use to HID lights, I rarely get flashed. Also when a car with these lights goes over a speed hump, it appears that the driver has flashed his lights.

I'm most interested to see the result.

F &J, that's a good scenario and could well right, but I think the car would have been converted earlier then that, I guess we'll never know. My father found a 1921 Stutz tourer in Roma Queensland in the late sixties that had been converted to a ute (pickup). He was fortunate the owner had kept the tub to use on the verandah of his homestead as a lounge chair. The rear doors were in the barn and the robe rail was being used as towel rack in the bathroom, see pica.

Hi Mark
I don't expect to find a pair of new pates, but I hope to find a good used pair, that are better than mine, otherwise I will have to repair mine existing plates.

Can anyone tell me where I might purchase New Old Stock or good used 29-30 Studebaker FH President clutch plates, or plates out of something else, that could be adapted.

I remember 12 volt batteries being twice the size of a 6 volt battery, which was probably bigger than a current 12 volt battery.
As a modern 12 volt battery fits in the battery box made for 6 volt batteries of my prewar Studebakers, with room to spare.

Studebaker had 9 main bearings on the small block engine in 1929.
Bumper bar spacers.

Hi Rex
I think we are talking about two different things, see photo of what I want, the two retanglular ones on the outside and the oval one in the middle, of the bumper.
