  8. Hi all, I have just arrived back from a cruise around New Zealand. A highlight for me was visiting the Art Deco town of Napier on the east coast of the North Island. I am quite the fan of Art Deco architecture and carry a camera everywhere I go for work and overseas just in case something pops up. The other highlight was meeting up with local Neville Smith, whose 1936 Buick has featured on the cover of Buick Bugle in the past. I have driven my own '36 many miles but have never sat in the back seat of one so here are a few highlights of a very special day. Enjoy!!! Picture 1: the '36 and '38 down by the water front. 2. My wife and I outside one of the fabulous Art Deco buildings. 3. Neville's fabulous '36 Phaeton. 4. My wife eyeing off Neville's "shoe trailer". 5. Neville's "man cave" with his 90L in the foreground. 6. The '38 as seen out of the back of the phaeton. 7. An Auburn in the man cave, original, not a reproduction! 8. The mighty 320 in Neville's 90L. 9. Neville and his mate Kevin. 10. A bit of Art Deco style to finish off. Cheers Paul

  15. Hi all, Just arrived back an hour ago from the Victorian Buick Clubs 50th Anniversary celebrations trip. Technology let me down (could not post photos on the road) but the Buick did not. 1750 trouble free miles in the '36. I will post a selections of photos when I get a little rest. Dodging cows. kangaroos, semi-trailers and "grey nomads" in their trailers and RVs. There were 85 cars in attendance with the oldest Buick attending a 1910 model and the newest a '78 Riv and everything in between. There were a total of 4 '36's, my South African Fisher and 3 Holden body models. More later......snore, Cheers Paul
  16. Hi All, Leaving on my 600 mile trip in my '36 to the Victorian Buick Clubs 50th anniversary event tomorrow morning at 4.00am. The first 400 mile leg is to the little town of Leeton in New South Wales where I will be meeting up with three 1920's Buick. I will try and post a few photos as I go. Cheers Paul
  17. It is will be a great day for Gary when the re-build is finished but a sad for me as it will be like my favourite TV series has finished. Good work Gary
  18. Hi All, The Club had a run to Joadja, which is a shale mining ghost town which operated between the 1870s to 1911, about 85 miles south of Sydney. It was a warm and sunny Autumn day and we had a good turn out. We toured the ruins and after lunch went Gin and Whiskey tasting. I couldn't convince the Kangaroos to have their picture taken with a Buick!....3 weeks to go to the 1200 mile round trip to the Victorian's 50th Anniversary event!
  19. Hi all, The Buick Club of NSW recently attended one of Sydney's biggest classic car events at Eastern Creek Raceway with about 150 clubs and over 1500 car in attendance. Although it is not a Buick I had to include a photo of a beautiful V16 Caddy. Aside from the obligatory show and shine I managed to take the '36 for a burn around the track with a blistering 60 mile an hour down the straight! Of course I am appropriately dressed for such extreme driving as you can see. I have also included a video of the Buicks in attendance. Hopefully you can view it. Cheers Paul MAH03840.MP4
  20. Hi Gary, like Rod Cook, I too started to suffer from withdrawals over the last week. Arriving at work each morning, turn on the computer with my first task to check for your next post only to find there were NO POSTS from you!!! Good to see you have returned and with some fabulous images. Mr Kennedy's work is amazing...could you email me is contact details please, I think the glove box and instrument panel surround in my '36 could benefit from his masterful attention. Good to see you back Gary, Cheers Paul
  21. Having had a fantastic run of warm, blue sky days but being caught up with family responsibilities over the weekend I grabbed an opportunity to fire up the Buick to deliver a parcel to our son who lives a few miles away. Having completed my good deed for the day, I decided that a little trip down the western side of Tuggerah Lakes was in order. I even located my Grandfather's holiday house that I spent many weekends and holidays at during the '70s. The weather was so good and I was having so much fun I continued on and having circumnavigated the lake I finally arrived home 2 hours later having had a few stops here and there to take in the view. Seems lots of others had the same idea seeing an AC Cobra, '68 Camaro, '35 Ford coupe hot rod and had a chat in a petrol station with an old timer called Roy and his wife and his magnificent red '68 fast back Mustang (one of four Mustangs that he currently owns). I enjoyed myself so much I forgot to take photos...
