  1. Is this what you are looking for? I have this one that was in the trunk of my 39 Royal.
  2. This Hubcap is for sale or trade (see post in buy/sell) however I am curious what it is for. What year and vehicle.
  3. I have an hubcap that was in my 39 Royal and I am not what sure what year it is but if you need it make me an offer. I will also be interested in swapping for a set of 4 1939 Chrysler Royal interior window crank handles or a set of good switches for wipers and lights.
  4. I am looking for some random parts as my car is nearly 100% all here. I do need all 4 window crank handles and I am also looking for the switches that mounted under the dash for all the lights(my connectors broke off when removing wires). Also would like some information/pictures of the rear seat arm rest as mine were removed.
  5. The grill and bumpers are chrome but the side trim pieces are stainless.
  6. Here is a picture of how she sits now AJ with the chrome being original and all I did was clean it up and put it on the grill. The black you see is an epoxy primer the previous owner put on it.
  7. thanks for all the replies I guess I had never thought of the safety issue but makes perfect sense.
  8. 1939 Chrysler Royal Just curious and have noticed many other cars in pictures only have a lock on the front passenger door and on the trunk. Can someone please explain why this is?
  9. I have searched all over the internet trying to find someone who restores the plastics on a 1939 Chrysler Royal and haven't had any luck. I have found a few pictures where people have taken the plastic off and painted them but I would like to go back with the plastic if at all possible. Any help would be appreciated.
  10. Pictures of my process along the way
  11. Thanks for all the advise. I do want to keep it as close to original as possible. As you can see in the above picture of my car on the trailer it was originally grey. I prefer the blue tones but as far as value I am still a bit confused about the chrome. Let's say I do paint it back grey. The majority of the chrome I have is buffing out really nice although it does have a few rough spots. Is it best to have the original chrome with a few imperfections or have it all re-chromed even though new chrome appears different than the old chrome due to materials and caroming process. Example: I have buffed the front bumper and it is nice and shiny however it's not mirror chrome. I think it adds a bit of cool factor if I can keep as much original as possible but how about the value? Heck even the old am tube radio still works. I have no intentions of changing any of the car to modernize it due to the fact it is still running on the original drivetrain. The following g picture is where she found the blue and white. If I do decide to change the original color I was thinking one of the below blues.
  12. Here are some picture of my car. Can't find much literature on a C-22.
  13. I am restoring my first early model car. 1939 Chrysler Royal. The car is complete for the most part with all original parts however the guy I got it from had already stripped it down and primed it. all interior and mouldings are removed. My wife has picked a beautiful Royal blue with white leather interior. I was wondering if this will affect the resale price in the future if its not an original color? Also is it best to keep all the chrome pieces original since they all seem to be polishing up pretty well with the exception of some rough spots vs having all the chrome refinished? I have been told its better to keep as much original if possible even if it has the rough spots vs re-chroming it. I have also seen where people are removing the plastic from the glove box and instrument cluster and just painting it since all that plastic stuff is cracked and brittle.
  14. Trying to learn a little about a 1939 Chrysler I just got home today. Any help would be nice. It is a complete rust free car that has been stripped and ready for paint and assembly. I also need to go through the Drivetrain. The SN on the right front door frame is 7611767. The panel on the fire wall has the following numbers listed C22S-28309 510A-675 OD JOB NO 46-327 Any help would be great. Also if anyone knows of someone who can redo the plastics on the dash would be great.
