Having read all the suggestions , admittngly some good cars ,I think these era mercs fit the criteria better , here in Cyprus ,my friend runs a holiday business providing touring in a classic car , the entourage consists of 12 similar model and age mercs , some British and European 70s sports cars about 20 total, I often join in as guide with my 72 stag v8
The trips include motorway and mountain roads , the cars are accompanied by minibus carrying refreshments and mechanic , however I have never been on a tour where the mercs needed attention , always the small British or European sports cars

thought there may be a connection between singer cars and singer sowing machines , but apparently no company connection , but oddly the founder of singer cars started his career in the manufacture of sowing machines 😁

Interesting to me as corvette fan
but have to agree
very is very often used when very often an alternative to very, would very often describe better

Restored two 1960 mga s in last 4 years , yours looks a better example than I started with so definitely has potential .
However probably will still need total restoration, body shop will probably charge 20/30k and an individual working hourly rate may seem cheaper option ,but hard to monitor and control and will still be a sizeable sum .
I m afraid you need to consider whether you intend to restore to keep or restore and sell . Restored examples fetch about 30K so when adding your cost keep that in mind
good luck with it

Some amazing rides , nothing quite so good , but I used to ride a cycle master to do my paper round was a old bicycle with engine in back wheel , pretty quick 30/35 mph and never seen another like it since , but weirdest a van with hydraulic cradle on top to service street lights

Carpet looks good reminds me of good quality tufted Wilton which appears in many British classic cars .
Ive been trying to replicate the look for my Austin Healey , but here in hot Cyprus carpets are rarely used , usually have rugs on tiles or marble . Therefore very little choice , firstly I wanted dark blue as car blue / cream, no chance , so I looked for mid grey , an ‘in’ colour so plenty of choice , but they all had synthetic weave and appear shinny or two tone , definite no , luckily in the end found a polyester Wilton lookalike in mid blue , not shinny , being done so looking forward to seeing result.

Some good and amusing stories on here , my addition is true and happened 3 years ago
I bought a windscreen and frame for my healey from a healey enthusiast in Michigan and was collected by Fed ex , but due to mix up on use of Labels , went to Cincinnati where it stayed , I was informed by my Uk agent there was a problem and both the seller and I repeatedly contacted Fed Ex and eventually gave up and was in communication with insurers who were being difficult about evidence and paperwork . This dragged on for 8 months , then one day I was contacted by my agent who said would I be home tomorrow as they wished to arrange delivery .
i now have item but unfortunately haven’t reached fitting stage in restoration.
Moral have faith 😊

They are used minimally, if at all, in the United States,
and most experienced car collectors here would not know
their demarcation dates or even the terms. I think that
they are used in British territories.
I’m British and often noticed veteran car runs as opposed to classic car rally etc , never seen a post vintage event advertised yet, but now I know will take notice .
one negative aspect to demarcation dates is my 1972 triumph stag is not considered a classic car ☹️
thanks for information anyway😊

Having had an antique shop and attended antique fairs , it was generally accepted within the trade that an article was only classified as a true antique unless 100 years old . Automobiles probably have different criteria , and finding it interesting the information and views of this thread

I Remember quite a few of my dads British 30s /40s cars had semaphores , I used to enjoy playing with them when parked , he always tinkered with about 6 at a time
mind you we never had a roller or jag , I remember singer , wolverley . Jowett , Austin , hillman ,Vauxhall , Morris , standard , ford etc
Naughtily I used to drive them a few yards on the starter 😁
