1923 Jordan, Continental Special Vertical L-Head, 245.6 cu inch, leak at rear seal on Continental engine crankshaft
I learned some Continental 6-cylinder engines of the 1922 - 1924 era do not have a rear oil seal, but have a flanged crankshaft that throws oil forward into the oil pan. I think my engine is a Continental Special Vertical L-Head, 245.6 cu inch. I read that on these engines, the cap is not slotted, and there no way to attach an "O", a gasket, or rope seal. How can we fix the rear main seal leak? Were there any updates to this system? -

Thanks, Mark, I found that both of our saddles are incorrect. One is stamped 530, the other 420. I would gladly sell them but need to find the #418 pair. Any suggestions are appreciated. I have posted on the Dodge Brothers' Facebook page and looked on Ebay. Will keep hunting...

So sorry but I can not see a link posted. Could you please add the link to this reply?

We are looking for one or a pair of saddle brackets for the 1922 Dodge Tourer. We bought it not noticing that the 2 on it do not match and need a good set. Photos of the part would be greatly appreciated

I am trying to get an estimated time (hours) to remove a power steering box and install a new box in a 1965 Chrysler L300 with a 318 motor.

Sorry Kevin Hines, not Larry, spoke with me. Very knowledgeable and helpful man!
-
Thank you! I followed your last clue with Bremen Motors and found Larry Hines in Bremen Indiana with Special Edition Cars. He knew Carlos Avallone and was very helpful to explain that Puma and Avallone are 2 different companies as you rightfully explained as well. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Thanks for the info! I see that Bremen Motor Corp (Queens NY) has been dissolved. What do you mean by the Avallones having no connection with Puma? Both logos are represented on the car.

Per the client, this is what we know:
1. 1988 Puma Avallone, VIN 9AMCA641XM198801. We believe the "198801" indicates that it may have been the first built in 1988. Built by Carlos Avallone (F1 Racer) in Brazil, not a "kit car", custom built to the specs of his customers to look like an MGTF-1500 (although it is one foot longer and one foot wider, and doors open standard way).
2. Purchased in 2005 by our client, from a NASA engineer in Muscle Shoals (Huntsville), Alabama.
3. Heavy Fiberglass body, . 1988 Chevette motor & chassis. Engine code VO721CYB indicates V (flint Michigan), 07 (July) 21 (21st day), but we are not sure of what the CYB engine suffix code indicates. CYB was used in both 1976 (60hp) and 1978 (63hp) as 1.6L. CYB was also used in 1982 as a 1.8L in Chevy Cavalier (88hp, 112 cid) 4 cylinder overhead cam, breather on right, intake on left. Mexican peso stamped on valve cover. Aluminum head. Exhaust manifold GMA 459982N. Ford carburetor.
We are wondering if there are any others like it, and of course how to value it.
