  2. Thank you for the response. I have been talking with the new owner and he is very interested in seeing his run again. My friend is currently working on the NY Duer engine and hopes to have it ready later this year.
  3. For anyone looking for Arrow cars....I recently acquired a few of the "Cadillac" antique models that were used at the St. Louis Six Flags location. I am in the process of going through them and it will take time but if you are interested, please message me and I will send pictures once I get a better handle on what I have.
  4. Please contact me about your interest in these types of cars. I recently acquired some that use to be at the Six Flags - St. Louis operation.
  5. That is the "New York" Duer that my friend purchased last month but thank you for the message.
  6. My friend Rick recently purchased a 1907 Duer Highwheeler from the Gilbert family in NY and I am helping him look for the other 2 known Duers. We found the 1907 "Chicago" Duer today but we are still looking for the 1907 Edward Todd "Birmingham, Alabama" Duer. There are some old threads from 2016 and 2017 and one of the Todd relatives was a "guest" on this forum asking about what to do with his grandfathers Duer. Does anyone have any contacts with the Todd family or know if it was sold and to whom? Does anyone know of any other Duer's out there? Any information or leads would be helpful. Please send me a message and I will pass it along to Rick.

  9. Amazing pictures. The one with the dog is definingly a 1924 Series A Moon because of the early headlights. The other one has the headlights that started showing up late in 1924 but it could be an early 1925 unless it is marked on the back of the photo by Mr. Harold Parker. I have not seen that picture before nor do I know that photographer. The top on that Moon is unknown to me too. I don't believe that it was from the factory but i will have to do some further research. Do you have nay more Moon photo's? Here is my 1925 Moon Series A Roadster...
  10. That's great news about getting the engine fired up. Nothing like the joy of hearing the rebuilt engine for the first time. I am currently doing a complete restore of a 1925 Series A Moon Roadster with a 7Z Continental engine. The 7Z was only made for Moon Series A cars.
  11. Do you need 6Y/7U parts or are you looking for Jim?
  12. Glad to hear you are getting your Davis restored and ready to go. As I said, Moon used the 7R engine for the 6-48 and we have a few in our club. I am also helping Jim Davis look for 6Y/7U parts for his Davis. Anyway, thank for the the 1929 8-80 Moon pictures. The owner, Kelvin, is a member of our club and that 8-80 Moon is the only one known to exist of that model. I have 3 Dianas made by Moon with 8 cylinder engines as well. Tell Kelvin hello for me.
  13. I have a 1911 Moon Model 30 Roadster and I am looking for a Continental Model C engine or any information about this type of engine. Did any other cars use the Model C? The time frame seems to indicate that they were used in the 1911-1913? period.
  14. Looking for Transaxle and rear end made by Covert Gear Company of Lockport NY in the timeframe of 1909-1912. I have a 1910 Model 30 Moon that needs this setup. Pictured is what one should look like.
  15. I am looking for a Continental Engine Model C for my Moon project. I believe they were built around 1911-1913. Any leads would be appreciated.
  16. FYI, the 6Y and 7U engines do not interchange with the 7R engine. Moons used all of these engines too and while the 6Y is interchangeable with the 7U (they both used the 6Y-200 block) the 7R is a different engine. Since the Moon 6-48 model used the 7R engine there must be other manufacturers that also used that 7R engine in the late teens and early twenties. Get that list and then it will help you find parts for your Davis.
  17. Sorry that I just now follow this Davis thread but let me shine some light on the Davis engines. And by the way, I keep in contact with Jim Davis quite a bit because we both have an interest in Continental engines since both the Davis and Moons used many of the same engines. The 7R Continental engine was also used by Moon models 1920 6-46 and 1920-21 6-48. The 7U Continental engine was used by the 1924 6-40/Series U and the 1925 Newport(still the 6-40 renamed) FYI, after I had done extensive research on both the 6Y and 7U engine, the 6Y Continental engine was the used by 1922-23 6-40 Moons and the block and most of the engine parts was used for the 7U engine. The only real changes from the 6Y to the 7u engine was the engine head and the manifold configuration. (see our website www.mooncarclub.com for pictures of these cars).
  18. Thanks everyone for your responses. Since I am not aware of any Moon with a Selden tag it could be that Moon never was part of that process. We only know of 4 pre-1912 Moons and i do not believe that any of them had the Selden Tag on them. We also need to do more research on body tag numbers and engine numbers since Moon may have had two different numbers on these early cars. We are missing good reliable information on pre-1912 numbers. If anyone has such data please cite your source along with the numbers. Thank you
  19. Thank you for the book information. I ordered it online today.
  20. Thank you for the list of numbers. I am curious about the book that these numbers came from. Can you give me the reference? I see from the early information that some of information appears to not match up with my sources from the 1920's. For instance, there was a Model C Moon but the model was only produced from 1907 till 1909 and then the Model 30 used the same wheel base of 110 inches for 1910 and then 114 inches for 1911 and then finally 116 inches for 1912. Also, the "serial" numbers don't match up with two publications from the 1920's. however, your book may be showing the engine number which was not the serial number that Moon had on their dash plate. Confusing????? Here is a list of Moons for the early years with the proper engines based on what I know from Ads and magazine articles from the period. 1906 - Model A and Model B with Rutenber engines 1907 - Model B & C with Rutenber engine 1908 - Model C & D with Rutenber engine 1909 - Model C & D with Rutenber engine 1910 - Model 30 & 45 with Moon designed T-Head engines 1911 - Model 30 & 45 with Moon designed T-Head engines 1912 - Model 30, 40 & 45 with Moon designed T-Head engines (although sometime in 1912/1913 Moon started to use Continental 4 cly engines and switched over to Continental engines full time by 1914)
  21. I am trying to do some research on early Moons and have only found car serial numbers dating back to 1912. I was hoping that maybe Selden tags might have some information that were assigned to Moon. Does anyone have Selden numbers for Moons? Or maybe other serial numbers for Moons made before 1912? What I have so far is as follows: Motor Age (Feb 2, 1922 Page 69) Model 30 serial numbers 5371-5470, Model 40 SN 6022-7000 and Model 48 SN 7002-7119 The "Accessory and Garage Journal - February 1923 had the same number but I haven't found anything before 1912. Any help or pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. Moon started making cars in 1906.
