  1. You say it needs detailed, but that car looks pretty awesome to me like it sits! I agree about the redlines; I think they would look sharp. Thinking about doing the same on my white 65 when the time comes, but not sure

how they would look on a white car with a black vinyl top.

500 was Ford's top model. I wish I knew why the 50s GM cars always bring price premium over their Ford counterparts.

Well said. There are several cars I'll walk right past at a show or cruise night. Retractables are one of them. It's not that I don't appreciate their engineering but I've seen too many.

1st-gen Camaros are even worse, and those are nothing special by any stretch. Yet I know people who are totally convinced GM never made any other car.🙄

I agree. When it comes to GM, I have always favored Buick, Olds, and Pontiac, even though I have owned four Corvettes.

This picture popped up in my FB feed and is one I had never seen before. This is not my picture, I am only sharing because I thought it was cool view of 66 nailheads being born.

Or maybe dying off? Those red engines look like 430's. Might be an end of the year photo?

Pretty nice, low option car. Kinda question some stuff, like Custom interior package with no rocker moldings and the painted outside mirror is a bit of a turn off. Also a PCV on that right valve cover would keep the stains off those nice covers. The trunk needs the spare and jack, and finishing out with material, and the cardboard to really look nice. Not a ton of money to get that stuff, but it DOES add up over time.

  5. I have an '89 with the six speed that I really enjoy; has almost 83k on it. Never did understand why these are the subject of so much disdain, even and sometimes ESPECIALLY from other Corvette owners. C4 was an

absolute game changer when introduced in March of 1983 as an '84 model. Well kept ones are out there and are a blast to drive. Almost feels like a race car from the driving position. Not the fastest there ever was, but

a ton of fun, no matter if you choose the L98 engine like this one has, or the LT1 like the 92-96 cars have.

Was the 65 Midnight Blue the same color as the 64 Diplomat Blue?

I'm not sure. It sure was close; similar to Chevy's Daytona Blue they used on the C2 Corvette, and I think Pontiac had a similar color I have seen on GTO's. Either way, it's beautiful; my Dad's '65 he bought new was Midnight Blue with a black standard interior. I have seen a few Midnight Blue ones, but seems like I've seen very few with the interior in black; most seem to have what I call an Astro Blue interior.

One of the things you could do is replace the intake with an aluminum one from TAPerformance.

    Lighter weight=Performance increase.

I already have front & rear sway bars in stock.

NOBODY makes the correct rear bars which I have in stock.

Won't hurt ride BUT increase steering response over & above what you may already have.

    Tom T.

Tom, have you heard of any hood clearance issues on a first gen Riv with that new aluminum T/A intake?

  8. As an aside, does anyone have the part number for the duct that can adapt the a/c duct hose to the black plastic rectangle that is behind my center vent? My VA system works good except for airflow in this area, because when it was installed, someone just cobbled the hose to the plastic with a/c tape. Not really the solution I'm looking for, and thought I read somewhere that they offered an adapter for the round hose to the rectangle box.

  9. The bracket for the compressor that Vintage sells is made by Alan Grove. I put one on last year when I discovered that the front mount tabs on my factory a/c bracket were broken off. The Sanden compressor mounts to it and eliminates the need for the rear compressor support bracket. It's a nice piece, and comes with all new hardware designed for the Sanden small compressors. All I had to do was paint and install; lined up perfectly.
