Anyone have a good source for a replacement a/c compressor?  or a rebuild for an original unit?

Previous posts here have highly praised the ones produced by Alma.

But they are on back order due to the pandemic.

You must get them thru retailers such as this one by me:

    3611 NW 27th Ave Ocala, FL 34475       352-509-3281

  2. Greetings

Replacing the compressor in my '67.

I don't know if my old one is original.

Would someone please tell me the specific '67 part # so I can find and match the correct decal?

The internet shows many decal variants for '67.

    Thanks so much.

But why? You can get the real thing for half the price.

    Where?

Half the price gets you corroded surfaces unless you wait half a life time for a miracle. Or pay quadruple for a maybe ok re-chromed by an  “expert” that may peel off in a “few”.

Cover your rusty nuts and get some sculpted stainless covers that can be reworked by hand. Har har

  4. Thanks all for the input.

Indeed, my car was idling horribly as I posted the symptom here over a year ago.

I couldn't find anything wrong and could only guess it was old fuel going bad.

Even some fresh fuels are already low quality from the get go.

At least prices now are below the stratosphere.

Find that station near you that sells the ethanol free gas.  Most of the time it's the highest octane gas which is a bonus as well.

But the ethanol free gas near me is 87 Octane.

I cant put that pee in my tank!

Where do you guys get hi-octane ethanol free gas???  The nearest jet-fighter air base?

  6. Time slips by and if you are like me, my Riviera doesn't get driven much at all.

I have Sta-bil in my tank but I believe the gasoline (or todays pumped corn cat piss) is well over a year old.

I see on the 'net this is alleged as a very bad thing to let happen. I have nightmares of gummed up lines and carb.

What are your thoughts? Should I drain the tank and lines immediately?

    Thanks

  7. This may help a bit but it’s been years since I’ve done it and my liver was a washed as well.

I can’t recall each step BUT I do remember using the end of a thick broom handle horizontally thru the sheet metal to support (or arrest) the glass while powering the motor up and down until holes would align. It took me 2 days.
I felt like I deserved the Purple Heart.
Wish I had more info to give you.

    Wear gloves.
    Best of luck.

  8. Om my, thats sad news.

I didnt know him but perhaps we can send the family a card.

Please let me know if you have any obituary info. Or city and state - I can try to look it up.

Perhaps members that know of him can chime in on memories I can add?

    PM me.

    Thanks

Hi everyone: Just wanted to let everyone know that Pau Duran aka Carbuff2, passed away a couple of days ago.  I had been trying to get ahold of him since his last post on April 30th.  Well, I finally got his email and discovered he had passed.  So RIP Carbuff2

    Seller's description

1973 Buick Riviera boat tail. Survivor 455ci 4bbl. 70,000 miles. All originaI. Always garaged. I have gone through the car this week after it was shipped from Montana. It was my late dad's car and I wanted to make sure I had gone through everything before I sold it. I just changed the oil and filter. Put in a new air filter. I lubed the front end. I just installed a new alternator and belt because the voltage had a low reading. The only thing that does not work on the car is the air conditioning. I've been driving the car around for the last week and it drives like a dream. The engine starts right up and has real good power when you hit the gas. The car drives beautifully and handles real well. Nothing has been done to it physically except for routine maintenance. I have the original build sheet and a clean title. I have all paper work that's been done on the car since 1995. I believe this car is worth $16k. Price to sell at $11,500. Firm. No low ballers

    WOW

That cars a steal if theres no rust!

If it were closer I'd be checking her out!

Is it becoming a buyers market???

    Still up for grabs.

I just got a re-chrome quote today and is as follows:

    "Paul,

Thank you for the inquiry and picture.  The grill runs in the $1500.00 to $2000.00 price range plus a 6% metals fee, sales tax and any return shipping.  We do ask for a 50% (Cash or check only) deposit in order to begin work on the job.  Turnaround time is approximately 10 to 12 weeks.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Kind Regards,

This is why I went for my NOS replacement.  $$$$$$$$

  11. My carpet is not stiff or "crunchy" with the dupli-color.

Regular RIT is your dads tie-dye. Regular RIT only soaks in to natural fibers.

If you are going to use RIT get the one for man-made products. This stuff you usually have to order 'cause it ain't on most shelves.
