  1. Any way you can post a pic of the music? As a Musician, a Studebaker owner, I would love to hear what it sounds like. (Can't find any reference to this piece online).
  2. Removed engine to do a complete overhaul. Had a shop install it and then the machine shop preoiled it to start it up. It started and ran, but needed timing set. Waited for another day. In the mean time, found out that the controls had been modified by the previous owner, so took about 4 weeks to figure out how to make it right. So it has not been started since that first day. This last Saturday, tried to start it finally and it ran for about 30 seconds at a time. I think I was taking the choke off too soon or suddenly. Then it flooded and so I left in frustration. Sunday tried to start and it sounded as if it was not even trying to fire. Gave up in frustration. Last night went to check all connections and wires and everything seemed to be making a good connection, and then moved to the plug wires. They all checked good....... then I saw this on the coil. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN??? WHAT would have caused this? And when it ran good 4 weeks ago..... And it seemed to run good (altho brief) this last Saturday. And most importantly - how do I keep this from happening again? (Does anyone have a Remy Coil for sale? IF I am correct, I believe it is Part number 106837, and the same part for 1924 Models EK, EL, EM, and 1925, EP, EQ, and ER.
  3. Good to know. Thanks for the info. My engine is making TERRIBLE noises - even tho the individual I purchased it from only 70 miles ago said it was in perfect condition. "It will take awhile to get use to the sound of these 1920s engines, but it will grow on you" he said. After hearing of Daves mishap I took it to a restoration shop to look at and they were afraid to let it idle because of the bad noises coming from the inside. So now I am in the middle of a tear down and finding missing pieces on the inside. We are all surprised it even ran the 70 miles I have put on it in 2 years.
  4. I guess I should provide my email address if anyone does come across something for sale which would be similar or match what I am looking for..... professor_km@cox.net Thanks.
  5. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE that!!! Waiting in anticipation.....
  6. Thanks for the info Scott. I have 2 of the descriptive docs but you can send more. professor_km@cox.net. Thanks.
  7. I am new to Studebaker's and new to this forum. My great-grandparents loved loved loved their Studebaker's and owned one from their first in the 1920's, through the 1950's. After that time, my great-grandmother fell in love with her Pontiac's. Not sure if my grandfather drove his Studebaker's or not through the 60's. In tribute to them, I am on a quest to find one of their first cars. What I have been told was a 1924 EM roadster. I have a lot of fond memories as a kid in the 1970's and 80's, looking at these pictures in family albums. I have never been near a Studebaker, but I joined this group in hopes of finding some resources or leads from anyone who may know of where I may be able to find such a vehicle. In the mean time, I submit these pics for you all to enjoy a little bit of Studebaker history...... (The young woman is my great-grandmother. The older woman is her mother. The man is my great-grandfather, and the little boy is my grandfather). Yes, they did have 2 Studebakers in the 1920's. I would love to find a car that looks as this one - I am told that the 1923 and the 1924 were very similar so would accept anything similar looking to this little roadster. Thanks for any leads anyone can provide.
