  1. You may have to put the car on a lift or go under the car on stands with it running. You should be able to hear if it is coming from the flywheel, gearbox, or U joint.
  2. 1925 and 1926 when the 4 cylinder first came out. The 4 cylinder cars had the same style ribbon but said "FOUR"
  3. I am of Irish decent and have been known to flare up just a time or two , a garage is most likely the safest place for me.
  4. Flat land is much different than 6% grade when you have a few miles to go up and down. The big Ford and Dodges do better here in the hills.
  5. It also has wheel spats, mud flaps and duel outside rear view mirrors.
  6. Different dies and/or die makers within the same company.
  7. If the gauge is in the green you should be OK. Every year the extinguisher should be turned upside down and and given a good whack to keep the powder loose.
  8. Moving the steering column is another issue to get a V8 in. A slightly newer 6 without the Babbitt bearings would be a better choice.
  9. Kerosene was used by people during the great depression and never recommended by mechanics because of the fire hazard.
  10. You may need to work on the solenoid. Check everything out on a bench, have it clamped down.
  11. Could be from a closed truck or a closed car
  12. 7 - 9 commercials, 7 minutes of program, repeat - repeat - repeat. Not for me.
  13. The end looks wrong for a starter crank with the simple notch. This one is maybe for a winch of some type
  14. To me it looks like sun visor trim.
  15. Dodge cars bodies were all steel from 1922. They used wood only for floor boards and as stated for the tack strips for upholstery GM cars used wood in the bodies well into the 1930s.
  16. These would work well on my Pinto Hatchback.
  17. I had a 42,000 mile 1974 Olds Toronado just sitting in a garage out of the sun the rear filler fell apart I replaced it with a fiberglass one that was not as wavy as the original one.
  18. All I can think of it is the remains of a clipboard.
  19. Many of the home radio sets of the 1930s had a switch to go from AM broadcast band to the police band. It would be interesting to find out if your radio is a transceiver or just a receiver.
  20. Brings back memories of the smell of an oily concrete floor.
  21. Before I looked at the photo I thought it might be a 1920s / 30s tail light question. A front clip is now what was called a sub-frame (IE - Nova front suspension). The old term for front clip is now called a dog house (front fenders, hood, grill etc ). The dog house was a slang term for the engine cover in a van now is a -- ?
  22. If these would work all the old soldered tanks would have had all their drain plugs fall out, unless water was left in as a buffer. This thing sliding around scraping rust & crud off the bottom then busting off the pick up screen - - -
  23. 1924 or early 1925 Model B. The later 1925s had a single windshield hinged at the top
  24. The bumper is newer, possibly Chevy truck ?
  25. I am glad that my High School area cars are not still on the road. They never would have passed the East Cost inspections, floor-less. wig wag headlights, I would put in used oil before leaving in the morning. I never payed more than $35 until I was 20 working in a body shop, then I caught the old car bug from a 35 Dodge coupe.
