I bought a 64 Lemans, factory air 4speed, convertible yesterday. I was decoding the Cowl tag today and it has a date code of N18. I have always known the date code to be month number, then ABCD or E to signify the week it was built. That's a fairly low serial number also, kind of wondering if it was a pilot car? Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

That I am not for sure of. I thought it was factory but not 100 percent sure.

Complete Contiental 7r with transmission. The engine came out of a Sayer and Scoville. The timing change cover is dated 12-9-24. It appears that someone took the engine, transmission, and the front half to the frame and used it to run an irrigation well. The engine is stuck, but appears to be in good shape.. It is located in NE. Asking $2500 obo.

Yes it is what came with it. It looks like somebody took the front half of the frame , the engine and transmission and used it on an irrigation well. This was pretty common practice 50-60 years ago in the in this area. Any idea how much would be too much to pay it.

I recently came across,( what seems to be complete), continental 7R engine. The grill shell says Sayer and Scovill. There is a date code stamped on the front of the block 12 9 24 . It has a Stromberg updraft carburetor and gen and distributor.This is a little out of my wheelhouse and not exactly sure if I should pick it up or not. The engine is stuck. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Mr. Earl, All I have done to the car is pour Marvel Mystery Oil down the cylinders and hoped that it would free up. I did that a week ago last Sunday and can still not turn it by hand or get it to roll over with the starter. I know that is not doing much, but I would rather sell the car stuck and let someone who has a better idea then myself rather then myself free it up then me breaking something being stupid. The man I bought the car inherited the car from his brother and he said that he left for the Navy in 65 and he was driving the car then and came back in 70 and it had been parked. He also said that he had bought another car while he was gone was driving it and was not sure why he parked the Buick. This was common practice with this family because I have bought three other cars from him that either he, his brother, or his parents just parked out in there pasture when they were done driving them. I am sure whatever antifreeze was in the car has long since evaporated. The underneath side of the hood latch look real solid and the passenger side seat skirt looks nice but the drivers side seat latch has broke through. I took a few pics take a look and I will be happy to answer any questions you or anyone else has on the car. Thanks

I will have to admit the Christmas color combo would not have been my first choice, but I have seen much worse color combos, especially by Chrysler in the 70s. Not to sound greedy, but I do hope the price goes up considerably. The 55 century wagon that ended on ebay the other day didn't meet the reserve at $5900. They said it was rust free, but had really no closeup pictures to prove that. My car is much rarer than the 55, therefore I am confident that the car will bring good money. I have learned in the past to never underestimate the last 60 seconds of an eBay auction!!

Hello, I recently bought a 56 210 2dr post with factory air with a friend. This car needs a complete restoration, but is solid and complete. We would like to keep the car, but we can't give the car the kind of restoration a car this rare deserves. The car is very oddly optioned. It is a 265 3 on the tree with no power steering, no power breaks, with a/c, electric clock, and hood ornament. It was originally Matador Red with Charcoal/ Ivory interior. Before 1961 it was changed to a two-tone Matador Red/ White, ( the white paint is chipping off and the red is underneath. The interior was changed to a light blue/ Ivory. We bought the car from a man who purchased it in 1961 at the age of 17 as a school car. By 1964 he had gotten another car and his father was driving the car. He pulled the evaporator, heater core, and blower motor off and put them in the backseat and the car was never driven again. Why, because it was hard to work on the passenger side and the a/c didn't work. Somehow by the grace of the good lord himself, the a/c parts were still in the car when we bought it. The car is pretty solid, The drivers lower front quarter is in great condition and the passengers is just starting to bubble. The trunk floor has some surface rust in it but doesn't look like it needs replaced. The spare tire sump is also solid. The floor pans all have some small wholes in them and will need replaced. The frame is solid as is the body mounts. The headlight "eyebrows" are also solid. All we have of the a/c equipment is what is pictured. The guy who we bought it from said that the compressor was gone when he bought it in 61. The engine is a 265 with a GK suffix, which according to GM Heritage means 265 2bbl 3 spd manual with air conditioning. So it is the original engine and according to the previous owner original tranny. The car was in a wreck in the early 60's and the and the drivers rear quarter was replaced, but no frame damage was done and it is a clean title. The cowl tag is located on the drivers side and reads, Style No 56-1011 (56 210 2dr sedan) Body No s11685 (Fisher body number) Trim No 564-AC (Charcoal) Paint No 697A-EZI (Matador Red) ACC (Blank) On this tag the AC and EZI was stamped next to the trim and paint and not next to the ACC. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. We are going to post this car on ebay next Sunday for seven days. Rarely do you ever see factory air in a Bel air. I have never seen or even heard of a 210 with air conditioning. This has to be one of the rarest Trifives in existence.

For sale is a very solid and complete 1934 Buick Series 60 frame and suspension. The vin number is 2739205. The vin tag is located on right frame rail about 6 inches behind where the bumper would bolt on. The Frame is located in central NE. Back in the 40s and 50s it was fairly common to take old cars, discard the bodies, and build grain wagons on top of the frame and suspension. This is what this was used for, however it appears to be in very good shape. It has the original wheels, delco lever shocks, front suspension parts, and rear differential. With only just over 14,000 Series 60's built in all body styles, this is a rare frame. This would be great for the guy who is looking for a nice frame for there 34 Series 60 Project. Sorry pont35cpe I just checked the topic. We are located in central Nebraska and yes the frame is for sale. After a closer look the rear end has been pushed back 3 in making it a Series 60 frame. For sale is a 37 Buick Series 46 Business Coupe. This is on of only 13742 two passenger coupes were built in 37, compare that with the 110849 two passenger coupes that chevrolet built, this is a pretty rare car It is a fairly solid car there is a spot in the rear drivers quarter panel and in the passengers door. There is a small spot in the passenger front floor and a pretty good sized spot in the drivers rear floor board, and the trunk floor will need to be replaced. The rest of the car is solid. The front hubs and drums are missing and I can't seem to find something that will work. Not in the pictures but is now on the car is rear tires. The grill is absolutely perfect. Most of the chrome is very very nice with no dings. There is a ding in the nose strip, ( might be fixable), and a small ding on the passenger door chrome that is fixable. The chrome strips on the cowl and the running boards will need replaced. The art deco door handles are there and are very nice. The doors can be opened from the inside. The whole drive train is in place down to the carb and offset air cleaner. The car also has a clean clear title in my name and in hand. This is a nice project car.
