  1. I have an electric fuel pump 6 volt back by tank on my 1932 56S. Mine sets for long periods between starts and it fires right up after letting pump run for 15-20 seconds. I have a hidden switch for it and I don't always remember to shut it of, but never has caused any problems. I do not have a pressure regulator either, and my Marvel seems to handle it alright, but I am sure would be better and safer with one. Brian
  2. It's at least a 60 series. two wiper blades and starter on passenger side. pretty long looking quarter panel between door and back fender.
  3. My car does the same thing, but the cap seems to stop the leaking. Then after a little grease no leaking.
  4. Thanks for the input guys! I have a new shaft coming from Mac Blair, the original was wasted. No wonder why it was leaking. Everything came apart smoothly, just hope it goes back together the same. Brian
  5. I have a 1932 Buick 56S coupe with a 1934 233c.i. engine in it. I am having problems with the water pump leaking at the packing nut. I would like to get the pump rebuilt or maybe do it my self if I could buy a rebuild kit. Looking on-line I haven't seemed to find what I need yet. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO FIND A GOOD RE-BUILDER OR GET A KIT? Live in Phoenix area
  6. Ventured out to the car show today. The sun had trouble staying out today, but it pop out and lit the car up so nice. I told my 8 year old son to jump in the driver's seat for a couple of pictures. Truly a rare day when the sun has trouble shining hear in Mesa, AZ. We are over a 110 days with no rain, very unusual for this time of year, finally suppose to rain tomorrow!
  7. My oil pressure runs between 30 to 40 PSI for the 50 series 230 C.I. engine
  8. If it is a 66S wouldn't it have the duel side mount tires like the picture above?
  9. Just wanted to share this nice 32 coupe for sale on Ebay, not mine. http://www.ebay.com/itm/252648172803?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  10. Classic Wood has no Buick wood products, only Ford Model A & T and V8 and Chevrolet.
  11. Ford used ash, some poplar, maple and sound oak elm, etc. A lot of times oak will have hidden cracks so hence Ford said it had to be sound oak. This probably applies to most manufacturers at that time.
  12. Drove my old 1932 Buick coupe to Church this morning with the family. Probably won't drive again until late September, too HOT! Fires right up and runs great!
  13. I have a 1932 series 50 with a 1934 engine in it. The exhaust manifold is from a 32 because the exhaust pipe is at front of engine. I think in 33 they move exhaust pipe port to the middle of engine. So if you want to put new exhaust pipe on, you could run a 32 exhaust manifold. See picture of my 34 engine with 32 exhaust. Also picture of 1933 exhaust system at bottom.
  14. Beautiful Red coupe for sale on Phoenix Craig'slist Check it out here: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/5491627264.html $30K but probably worth it.
  15. Here is a poor old Buick that needs a lot of wood rescue! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-Other-/131739206627?forcerrptr=true&hash=item1eac44c3e3:g:7dEAAOSw~OVW05p5&item=131739206627 1926 Buick on Ebay, could be a really cool car. Brian
  16. I just saw two caps on ebay and they did say that it was 4 1/4 " diameter. Which is bigger than mine, I did not know the two years were different, thanks. Also the configuration of the 8 looked sightly different than mine, the base on mine also has a raised area that the one on ebay didn't have.
  17. For some strange reason my car will only go about 30 MPH in 3rd gear,1932 series 50 230 c.i. BUT then if I pull out my choke about a quarter of the way, then I have had my car up to 65,probably more like 60 because I think speedo is a little fast, have to check it with GPS. I have rebuilt the carb and the car runs great just will not accelerate unless choke is out slightly even after fully warmed up. The original Buick literature says it will cruise at 75 MPH, that is definitely too fast.
  18. Wow that roof looks so heavy duty I think you could walk on top of it. Looks great!
  19. The flying 8 is correct for 1932! That what is on my 1932.
  20. Those pieces you need are called "rear door header trim" left and right
  21. I was wondering if someone can tell me where I can get a hub puller or how to make one. The rear hub looks like there are threads on it. Is that the best way to pull hub, screw a threaded bell on there with a center bolt to push the hub off, After you remove the big nut of course! Thanks for your input, Brian
