Good to know that you are human like the rest of us mugs...š

As an alternative, you can hag another generator(or alternator) on the other side of the engine and run it off a longer fan belt. I did it to my '28 series 62. Chrysler eliminated the integral generator on the right side of the engine driven by the timing chain and went the conventional fan belt driven generator on the left side of the engine in the '29 models series 65/75. By the way, series 72 is considered to be a 1928 model, though it may have been built in '27.

Don't you have suspension specialists in your area?
-
Don't over think it, just go to your nearest suspension mechanic, they will find units that will fit. I'm sure their labor cost would be minimal. Take yours off before you take it here to save some labor.

The rings on the gear stick knob and horn button are gold colour on my airstream. I have spares of both. -

I believe the Desoto Airflows were 5 holes. -
These are common to most mopar engines of the day, not specific to a '31 Desoto.

I always thought this was standard all over the globe; up to 1918 Veteran up to 1930 Vintage up to 1949 Post Vintage up to 1969 Classic

The Car Which Shall Not Be Named III (1935 Lincoln K)

In Australia its called the Commodore. Interestingly, in '78 GM Holden copied the German Opel to begin the Commodore nameplate and the last one was also a direct copy of the Opel. -

I can see the problem, it needs white walls....š -
Really? My understanding is that the '29 Dodge was the first all steel car by Budd.

Thanks Greg, I've sent you an email. Regards, Moe

An extremely desirable '34 coupe, should fetch a lot more than the current top bid, may get over $20k. There is probably another $10-$15k worth of work to do with it. ps; I've just picked up a '34 Imperial sedan in a similar restoration stage for au$25k, needs another $20k put into. -
One more suggestion from me, did you remove the oil pump/distributor drive from the cam?
-
There is also Penrite T250 Transoil.
-
Also, did you turn the cam as you pull it?
-
Have you tried holding all the tappets up as high as they go, maybe clothes line pegs will keep them up.
