  1. Padgett the bulb for the serpent horn is probably on the floor to push with your foot that was where the bulb was for the horn on my 1910 White steamer
  2. Having several 7 pass cars a Yellowstone bus and a Stanley MT. wagon I always seem to have people along for a ride. When people see the Stanley they always ask how can you drive this thing. I tell them it's the easiest car I have to drive it's just the hardest to operate. I even let the ones that I can tell have a real interest in old cars drive it but only if I am with them to operate it.
  3. Michael J Barnes if you need the rubber piece for under the windshield for your 1924 Cadillac V 63 call me I have made a mold for them and might have enough material left to pour one more 94. 468 6795 or 828 524 6702.
  4. Ed I know you have been busy so I didn't want to bother you but I have several thing you might be interested in. I just talked to my friend out west , he has a 1916 60hp 6 cyl White and also the remains of a duel valve 4 Cyl car .Also you said the man your car came from was a long time Tampa FL resident if he was there in the early 60s I would love to see if he knew the man that restored my 1913 60 horse Oakland most of the old timers in the Tampa area that I knew have passed on.Call me when you get time I am still in NC. The number here is 828 524 6702 and I am up up till 10:30 most evenings
  5. Ed I know you said the tires are new do you mean ones made in the past few years or new when put on the car years ago but just not used? I am not very good at typing but would like to tell you my experiences about non skid tires. My son and I took the Yellowstone bus about 100 miles through the mountains yesterday and took the 24 cad. and 13 Oakland over 100 miles today. Call me if you get a chance 828 524 6702.

  7. Ed before you start putting new tubes and flaps in those non skid tires give me a call.I also have another idea on the water pump shaft.Phone is 828 524 6702
  8. Ed for what it is worth many years ago I had a 1917 Velie. The water pump shaft was no where near as complicated as the White but in much worse shape.Took it to the local machine shop and they turned down the bad spots and welded up the under cut to oversize then machined it back down and polished it. I drove that car many miles and never had a problem with it. Wound up selling it back to a Velie family member. The bottom end of your engine looks almost the same as the engine in my Yellowstone bus.
  9. Just got time to catch up on the progress on the White.White did not use packing on many of their water pumps the fit was so close that a little water pump grease was all you needed. The early v-8 cad. used a chain drive fan great set up. I changed the light bulbs in my 24 cad. to LED. Best thing I ever did for safety and older eyes. Also great for the generator now have juice left over and can see where I am going and people can see me.
  10. Dr I do not know you but my son and I have or have had 8 or 10 whites over the years . I currently have a 15 45 Yellowstone his the I drive all the time.I live in Venice Fl in the winter and Franklin Nc in summer.I am sure you know not to loose any original White bolts and try to replace them with stock modern bolts or just because White used ALAM bolts not SAE bolts. Also White made many 7 pass cars in 1917 for Yellowstone Park as well as the buses. Would love to come see you car when I get back to Fl . Marks magneto is one of the best for magneto work but he is usually backed up. Call me if you think I could help you 941 468 6795 cell or 828 524 6702 in Nc.
