  1. I know all those places have trailer hitch balls but this size has not been commonly used since the 1930's or 40's. It will have to come from a specialty supplier or someone that just has an old one.
  2. I just bought a Lynn u can back trailer in Hershey. Where can I get 1 5/8 inch trailer hitch balls for it?
  3. Ed if you build a speedster with the engine you won't have a spare any more.
  4. Thanks for your help but don't waste a lot of time on it. They are probably dead anyway I need to find some older member in the Rochester NY area and see if they remember him or the car.
  5. Dave my smart phone an tablet are smarter than me. I can't figure how to get my saved pictures to post on here. If you pm or email me your contact info I will try to send you some pictures of my Whites.
  6. Thanks for the link Dave very interesting. The picture of my truck was not on the Oakland thread but on the thread by edinmass about the 1934 Buick he and Phil got . I will try to post some pictures of my White trucks later this evening.
  7. Rob did you notice that in the ad you posted under the picture of my car there is no battery box for the 6-24 volt battery and in the specs it listed it as having an air starter? I don't think they ever made any that way but but I have seen other pre production adds like this.
  8. Thanks Chris I have never heard of that sight but I am not very educated on the internet.
  9. Thank you Gary I have been trying for many years to find early info on this car and no one seems to know Mr Welsh or any of his family. The. car was written up in the Antique Automobile magazine in the 1960' s when he lived in Riverview FL but none of the old timers around the Tampa bay area remember him I am sure he is dead by now and maybe his children also. The car is a southern wide track car so I am sure it didn't come from NY. In the 1950's and 60's most people didn't travel to far to get cars to restore so I have always assumed it was a FL car. The early FL registration list for the 1913-14 time period list about 5 Oakland's three of which were near Riverview but unfortunately Fl registration did not require a engine or model number only the owner name and address make and body style so that has not been much help.I guess I will have to keep looking.
  10. Yes that is my car and I have never seen that article. This will be a great help in finding the living members of his family so I can try to track down the early history of the car thanks Chris. Where did you find this article?
  11. I am the owner of the red 6-60 pictured here. The car is now under rerestoration and hope to have it back on the road this fall. This car is a southern widetrack and was restored in Riverview FL in the late 1950s or early 1960s by a Mr Daniel Welsh and written up in the May-June 1968 issue of the Antique Automobile. I have been lookIng for years to find someone that might remember him or his family to try to find where the car came from,if anyone knows anything about him please let me know. The picture postcard of the man with no arms is of Mr Frank E Fithen . He has quite a history you can find on the internet but he drove that car to every Oakland dealership across the country as a promotion for Oakland. He sold those those postcards to make a living and many of them show up eBay from time to time. As far as I know my car is the only surviving 6-60 and I have been looking for about 40 years if you know of any others please contact me.
  12. Padgett the bulb for the serpent horn is probably on the floor to push with your foot that was where the bulb was for the horn on my 1910 White steamer
  13. Having several 7 pass cars a Yellowstone bus and a Stanley MT. wagon I always seem to have people along for a ride. When people see the Stanley they always ask how can you drive this thing. I tell them it's the easiest car I have to drive it's just the hardest to operate. I even let the ones that I can tell have a real interest in old cars drive it but only if I am with them to operate it.
  14. Michael J Barnes if you need the rubber piece for under the windshield for your 1924 Cadillac V 63 call me I have made a mold for them and might have enough material left to pour one more 94. 468 6795 or 828 524 6702.
