Need nice grill for a 1965 Plymouth valiant signet coupe or convertible also automatic brake pedal -- must be nice Allan -
Dave I had carb. off intake and it did not look to be a re-drill or welded -- it has a 2 7/16 center to center on studs. But bores are not the same -- runs OK. intake looks like an un-modified stock PA. The Pattern for the heat shield is for a stock PA carb. very different from the BB1 and I modified it 3 time before I settled on this one, many changes. Most of them I made on the fly. When I have it off next time I could copy it.

This is on a 31 PA coupe. someone had changed the carburetor over to the carter BB1 . I made parts to fit the 31 air cleaner too it. Also did the later add on up pipe to raise vent cap out of the dirt. The fuel pump heat shield made from pattern that was sent to me (thanks). I had to also modified this to clear the BB1 carburetor. Did the steel fuel and rubber line for fuel pump.

Cleaning up Rt. side of motor. Modified air cleaner to fit BB1 carb . fuel pump heat shield. gas lines. car had the carb on it when I bought to and runs good but I wanted it to look like it belongs on car.

looks like this is the one in Grand Rapids -- the overall pictures look good --- if you are going for a complete restoration - things you could check -- running boards for rust on under side and the trim around boards -- look at carb on motor should be a Carter brass bowl and have a strange looking air cleaner (odd shape with two tubes) sticking out of one side. good intake/exhaust manifolds are getting hard to find. check head lamp switch to be sure it works. see if vacuum unit work on distributor when running. This car has free wheeling on transmission see if cable moves on dash and trans will free wheel when you let up on gas while driving. ----- looks like interior will need a work over to bring it back to stock but could us it as-is for now. I think price is close on this one. some of the things above are getting hard to find the parts for to fix. take lots of pictures. Good luck Allan

Thanks for putting up the pictures --- I bought a coupe and someone took the front apart missing some small parts. hood rods are on car but cross bracket is missing. The fuel pump heat shield is also not on car would like to find it also. Thanks for any help. Allan

I was at the sale and yes there was a large amount of parts but I do not remember many loose manifold parts. I picked up many Pa parts but no manifolds I think Loyd G. was all so there not sure what he got. a lot of PB parts. Allan

Had same issue about 20 years ago on my sedan. this is what I did --- the exhaust manifold to intake surfaces had them both cut flat. Then used tapered nuts and on the motor side of the manifold. put the two half's with the gasket in the middle run a bolt through from intake side into tapered nuts. I then pulled things together with the bolts. putting a light crush on the gasket. Then I planed the motor side of the complete manifold. nice flat gasket seal for complete manifold on block side. Also if you cut intake and exhaust center surface this may reduce your come up short issue. This is what I did and still no leaks after 20 years. I just bought a 31 PA coupe it has a leak at the center and I will be doing the same on it ---- Allan

Bob are you trying to corner the market on manifold parts?? or are you having problems with yours. Allan
-
so I have never use them --but I would think that they would be used with a gasket due to the way the manifold seals to the block. the hump in the middle is about as thick as the gasket on the ring. -- Allan

they are pictures --- I can click on them and they open-- will check into it --Allan

after 2 hrs. of digging I found them

I will look I bought some years ago but did not use them. I will see if I can find them and get a picture to see if they are what you are talking about. not sure they are used with a gasket or alone --Allan
