    My VIN file shows this VIN already in the file as a 1991 and not a 1990. My guess the title reads 1991. At least the pictures reflect all of the problems with the car and not just a photo from 25 feet away.

    Let's start with questions. Have the lights ever been on? Are the other lights on the dashboard on? The headlight switch is also a rheostat and turning it clockwise to the stop will make the dash board lights dimmer. Turning the switch counter clockwise will make the lights brighter and with a minor click on the counter clockwise turn will lock the lights in the brightest position.

    Good job Reaper. My first concern starts with the subject and in 1989 they did not title any black TC's. The blue grease that Reaper spoke of used on the pull down mechanism was also used in the odometer and when it harden over time broke the gears in the odometer and it no longer works. There was a total of 7,300 TC made so you can see how many spare parts are available except when one finds it way to the junk pile. I would not buy one without seeing and driving the car as there can be a lot of hidden problems. Check every moving part such as power seats, antenna, pull down, windows, door locks and so on. Mileage is a big consideration for pricing and when the mileage is lower the interior leather is probably in better condition. Good luck. They are a lot of fun driving.

    I know of a yellow 1989 SOHC that is for sale. Where do you live MAC48? 53K miles. I was supposed to go look at it 8 days ago but a 100% artery blockage interfered with my visit and I had to spend a couple of days in ICU following surgery.

    If you switch the ignition ON-OFF 50 times it will clear the fault codes. Another way to clear the codes is to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. See URL http://minimopar.net/fault/ this is a great website on faults but not as good as Hemi and Reaper.

    You are correct the pegs are not adjustable. The pull down mechanism in the tonneau well can be adjusted a small amount. There are 5 bolts, 2 on each end and 1 in the middle. It will slide up and down. One typical problem is that the soft top when not used much needs to be stretched back out. Also attach the pegs first and then the 'J' hooks. You can also get a little more play by screwing the 'J' hooks but this can allow rain to enter the car.

    The socket and ratchet are for working the pull down thru the trunk.

    Your TC has a built in fault testing system. If you go to the following URL it will explain how to use the system and get the fault codes your TC has. http://minimopar.net/fault/index.html If you have a service manual there is a brief table of the codes on pages 14-24 and 14-25 but the URL is far superior.

    The top piece goes on the lower back of the seats to cover the rails the seat rides on. This piece fits either seat. The other piece I have never seen before.

    This is not a quick fix but over the course of a couple of days you will know where your problem is. With a charged up battery pull about 4 fuses and see if the car starts in the morning. If it does not start, charge up the battery again and try 4 different fuses. Eventually you will find the 4 problem circuits. Then using those 4 fuses keep the process going until you find the specific circuit that is causing the problem. Then look and see what is on that circuit.

    The black plastic box looking thing goes in the trunk around the latch. The black plastic loop coming out from the side in front of the light is the manual release for the tonneau hold down.. There should be another one on the other side of the storage compartment. The electrical wires are unknown.. They are not factory.

    Turbo, Got home tonight (was out of town) and the key chains were there. Thank you. For royalcabTC each side measures 1 1/16th of an inch. Nice job, they look great.

    Thank you for your patience and updates over also the last year. As you maybe able to detect there is a slight difference in the table below due to changes made by the AACA Forum System. Please continue to make additions to this thread so that I can keep the table current. I am going to try and add one more column in the next revision for TC's that are in junkyards or parts cars for information purposes.

    Not counting junk yard, parts cars and salvage in my notes column which I do not publish, I have exactly 800 TC's in my list. This is an old thread as each time I send out a revised thread I attach an "Update Date" to the title. A revised thread will have all the old VIN's plus any updates and/or changes. My notes contain things such as the exotic red TC for sale on eBay which has been painted gold. I do not add to the thread VIN's I know but the owner has not notified me of adding it to the thread. I probably have 50 others in this category. I do publish cars that are publicly identified in eBay or other for sale articles showing their VIN.

    One of my TC's has the following symptoms: the door lock actuator on the passenger door works with either the switch in the driver or passenger door; the lock/unlock button on the door moves slightly; the button cannot be moved manually to the full lock or unlock position; both door switches works the passenger window up and down; both the interior and exterior door levers move slightly but not enough to engage the door lock; and finally the key will not move in the door’s lock. With the window in the down position I have put a shot of WD-40 in the area of the exterior door handle and the interior area in the same area of the door and that did not help. I have also tried the 'slim Jim' solution to unlocking the door and that did not work. Any ideas?
