  4. I actually never took a 'driving' test. We had written only. This was in Louisiana circa 1986.
  5. Long Lewis Hardware ( moved to downtown Birmingham from Bessemer in 1929) actually just closed a couple of months ago (bought out by another Hardware outfit) after over 100 years in business. They became a Ford dealer I believe in 1915 and the dealership still exists and is a large one.

  7. If it is a exhaust leak, you could pour a 'little' transmission fluid (ATF) in the carb with the car running and then look for the smoke. That will show you wear the leak is.

  9. Not sure about 1970 but my 1971 had "Z28" stamped right on the firewall tag. There was no doubt it was a real Z car.
